Kremlin spokesman: U.S.-Russia relations maybe even worse than Cold War

Source: Politico

Relations between the U.S. and Russia have devolved to the level of a “new Cold War” or “maybe even worse,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Friday morning as he denied allegations that the Russian government interfered in last year’s U.S. presidential election.

Echoing comments from Russian President Vladimir Putin, who responded to a question about whether or not his government had indeed sought to interfere in the 2016 race by saying “Watch my lips: No,” Peskov told ABC’s “Good Morning America” that “we’re 100 percent confident” that Putin’s claim will prove true. He said reports that the Kremlin had sought to swing the election were “propaganda” that he admitted have been effective in convincing the American public.

“For more than a year, American audience have been a target for severe entire Russian propaganda and, of course, they felt victim of that propaganda and that's why lots of American, they do think that, yes, Russian hackers are everywhere,” Peskov said. “Russian hackers are in every fridge. Russian hackers are in every iron. But this is not true. Those are fake news and this is slander.”

The reports that Peskov chalked up to propaganda have largely been sourced to the intelligence community, which concluded last fall that the Russian government was to blame for a wave of cyberattacks targeting the Democratic National Committee and other high-profile political individuals, most of them Democrats. Further, the intelligence community said Russia engaged in its cyber campaign with the specific aim of aiding President Donald Trump’s candidacy and installing him in the White House.

1 in 3 voters give President Trump a grade F

Source: McClatchy

WASHINGTON

After more than two months in office, America’s new president, Republican Donald Trump, got a grade of F from 1 in 3 voters, according to a new McClatchy-Marist Poll.

By contrast, the same number graded predecessor Democrat Barack Obama’s performance a B as he approached his 100th day in office.

“Every time he speaks . . . it is so negative,” said Whitni Milton, 31, a professional singer from Atlanta who participated in the poll. “I have never seen someone who has riled up so many people.”

Milton, who generally votes for Democrats but was so disgusted with both candidates that she sat out the presidential election in November, said she would gladly take the last Republican president, George W. Bush, over Trump. “I am not a Bush supporter,” she said. “I will take Bush 10 times over.”

This Firebrand Ex-Congressman Blames The 'Deep State' For His Fraud Indictment

Source: TPM

When former Texas lawmaker Steve Stockman returned to Congress in 2013 after a sixteen-year hiatus, he scored headlines for wild stunts like inviting conservative rocker Ted Nugent to a State of the Union address and coining the slogan, “If babies had guns, they wouldn’t be aborted.”

Stockman’s last two-year term was also dogged by swirling allegations of campaign finance violations flagged by government watchdog groups and the Office of Congressional Ethics. Those allegations came into sharp focus on Tuesday with a 28-count federal grand jury indictment against Stockman and one of his former congressional aides, including charges of mail and wire fraud, lying to the Federal Election Commission, excessive campaign contributions and money laundering (one count charges Stockman with filing a false tax return).

Stockman and the former aide, Jason Posey, are accused of using hundreds of thousands of dollars stolen from charitable foundations to bankroll Stockman’s congressional campaigns and pay off their personal expenses. Some of the charges against Stockman first came to light after he was arrested on March 17 while trying to board a flight to the United Arab Emirates (Stockman told the Houston Chronicle he planned to make the trip to “help Sunni Muslims”).

The bombastic former lawmaker is maintaining his innocence, telling a Chronicle reporter outside a Texas courthouse on March 18 that he was targeted by a “deep state that’s continuing to progress.” He has continued to sound off about “deep state corrupt officials,” “toilets that spy on you” and Hillary Clinton’s health on his @SteveWorks4You Twitter account in the days since his arrest.

Mike Pence Asks Waiter To Remove Mrs. Butterworth From Table Until Wife Arrives

WASHINGTON—Expressing concerns about the propriety of being left alone with a syrup container of the opposite sex, Vice President Mike Pence reportedly asked his waiter Thursday to remove Mrs. Butterworth from the table until his wife arrived to join him at a local diner. “Excuse me, sir, would you please take this out of my line of sight until my wife gets here?” said Pence, who reportedly attempted to put the table’s sugar dispenser and salt and pepper shakers between him and the feminine syrup bottle before deciding that even having Mrs. Butterworth within arm’s reach could lead him to have impure thoughts. “It just would not be right for me to sit here alone with a woman-shaped container, particularly one as shapely as this. In fact, I would advise you to do the same for the man sitting over there—I see he is sitting very close to Mrs. Butterworth even though he appears to be wearing a wedding ring.” At press time, Pence had asked the waiter to pour syrup on his pancakes for him, as it would be unseemly to handle the curves of the plastic woman in such a public place.

Does it really take this long to screen a child (TSA)?

This child was patted down by a TSA agent for 2 minutes. Don't think that's a long time? Watch until the end.

Woman who provided deadly butt-enhancement injections gets 10 years in prison

Source: Sun Sentinel

Oneal Ron Morris, who pleaded no contest to manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license last month in connection with a deadly butt- enhancement, was sentenced Monday to 10 years in prison followed by five years of probation.

Morris, 36, who is known by her patients as “Duchess,” had been accused of injecting a toxic mixture of substances into the buttocks of women who were seeking curvier figures but could not afford traditional cosmetic surgery.

Women, and men who live as women but have not undergone sex-change operations, visited Morris at various locations, where Morris would inject them with silicone, mineral oil, Fix-a-Flat tire sealant, cement and Super Glue, according to investigators.

Shatarka Nuby, a Tamarac woman who allegedly paid Morris $2,000 for as many as 10 injections between 2007 and 2010, died from related complications in 2012.
