Ivanka Trump, the elder daughter of President Trump, is becoming an official government employee, joining her husband in serving as an unpaid adviser to her father in the White House.
Ms. Trump already has an office in the West Wing, and she said last week that she would serve as an informal adviser to her father. But that plan prompted criticism from ethics experts, who said it would allow her to avoid some rules and disclosures.
I have heard the concerns some have with my advising the president in my personal capacity while voluntarily complying with all ethics rules, and I will instead serve as an unpaid employee in the White House office, subject to all of the same rules as other federal employees, Ms. Trump said in a statement on Wednesday.

Opera has some privacy features built in, but not sure how trustworthy the new buyers are.
Opera browser sold to a Chinese consortium for $600 million
After a $1.2 billion deal fell through, Opera has sold most of itself to a Chinese consortium for $600 million. The buyers, led by search and security firm Qihoo 360, are purchasing Opera's browser business, its privacy and performance apps, its tech licensing and, most importantly, its name. The Norwegian company will keep its consumer division, including Opera Apps & Games and Opera TV. The consumer arm has 560 workers, but the company hasn't said what will happen to its other 1,109 employees.

Happily, the MSM now has many pieces of the complicated story, whereas only a couple of weeks ago most of the story was being pushed by independent journalists on social media.
The evidence is now clear that the WH and Nunes worked together to halt the Russia investigation:
The evidence is now clear that the White House and Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, have worked together to halt what was previously billed as a sweeping investigation of Russian interference in last years election. Weve been frozen, Jim Himes, a Democratic representative from Connecticut who is a member of the Committee, said.
The freeze started after last Mondays hearing, where James Comey, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, revealed that the F.B.I. has been investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia since last July. Comey also said that there was no evidence to support Trumps tweets about being wiretapped.
Today, the House panel was scheduled to hear from three top officials who had served under the Obama Administration: Sally Yates, the former Deputy Attorney General, who briefly served as acting Attorney General, before being fired by President Trump; John Brennan, the former head of the C.I.A.; and James Clapper, the former director of national intelligence. But last week Nunes cancelled todays hearing.
The Monday hearing last week was, Im sure, not to the White Houses liking, said Himes. Since Monday, Im sorry to say, the chairman has ceased to be the chairman of an investigative committee and has been running interference for the Trump White House, canceling hearings.
