A very fitting song

Orginally I thought of this for another thread, but considering what is happening in NYC, it fits.

The song is about people fighting snow, deadly wind, and hostile people to get something through for other people that depend on them.

Close the doors, put out the light
You know they won't be home tonight
The snow falls hard and don't you know
The winds of Thor are blowing cold
They're wearing steel that's bright and true
They carry news that must get through

They choose the path where no-one goes
They hold no quarter,
They hold no quarter.
Oh...

Walking side by side with death
The devil mocks their every step
The snow drives back the foot that's slow
The dogs of doom are howling more
They carry news that must get through
To build a dream for me and you
They choose the path that no one goes
They hold no quarter,
They ask no quarter,
They hold no quarter,
They ask no quarter...they think about no quarter...With no quarter quarter.
Oh No...

Now, think of the first responders tonight. Think of people still needng rescue. They are the ones whose every step is mocked by the devil.

Until Mitt concedes

Yes,I have said this over and over, but we Democrats are so tired of the fact the the GOP never ever quits that we want to believe common sense will win. As Voltaire put it, "common sense is NOT common", to which I humbly add "especially in the United States of America." Until the very moment he concedes, we have to keep going FULL THROTTLE, boot on the elephant's throat, taking no prisoners!

We know the MSm will glaldy support claims of fraud or miscounts; they have a vested interest in disorder, even those nice people at MSNBC.

No prisoners,
No let up,
no "fair and Balanced."

NO QUARTER

If John McCain was president today

The same GOP that cheered as New orleans drowned would be working OVERTIME to celebrate and exploit the death of the Northeast. Companies woudl be enocuraged to move down South, and by encouyraged I mean corruption would grease wheels with grease made fromthe blood of labor unions.

Not that i envy voting there now, but please remember, the GOP wants to kill NYC; that is why W. kept reading my pet goat when 9-11 hit. If mitt qwins, the agenda will be to bury the NE, in favor of states which prefer Boardrooms and Churches to be where the real decisions are made.

beware of polls bearing gifts

Now, I know some people will talk about polls as if they are the onyl scientific evidence worth squat, blah blah. The fact is, we know that polls have been compromised. They have become means of deception rather than enlightenment.

Yes, it is nice to see these polls come around, but they do not tell us anything we did not know; that Mitt's mask would have to slide off, no matter how gilded it was.

There is one, and only one number that matters 270 on November 6, and there is no replacement for GOTV. We need to drown Mitt, drown him so deep his minions cannot steal the election. We know the MSM will lie, especially as nothijng would be ratings gold like another Florida 2000 or Ohio 2004.

Then we can relax a bit, though acvtually not that much. We have not forgotten the back burner issues. We can tell Obama simply that the same momentum we used against Mitt can be used against him if he listens to Alan Simpson, and that she same people that kept their eyes on the rpize also want those drones stopped.

one clear loser of the debate

Old white males

No,I do not mean Mitt, although he did, but frankly, for moderators, the old white males proved they ran awful debates. None of them came as close to making the candidates actually answer questions as did the two ladies. heck, I even found myself priaising Candy Crowley after this.

Trolls and concern

Now, are there trolls that are trying to get on the board and play us like a harp? Of course. The GOP knows the only hope they have is that the Democratic circular firing squad fires up again.

Are there people who are askign legit questions? Of course. Part of DU's purpose is to help wash off the toxic, oily smarm that has been poured over people through the TV and other "liberal media."

Should we panic either way? No

Will a troll eventually get snippy and nasty, yes, and that will be how we find and boot them, not just because they ask a question.

Gloria Steinem calls Romney extremist

http://www.tampabay.com/news/politics/elections/gloria-steinem-calls-romney-extremist/1257574

excerpt:

"Mr. Romney is the most undemocratic, anti-equality ... extremist candidate I've ever seen, bar none," Steinem said. "The great centrist ... Republican Party needs to come back."

My only complaint: what great centrist party Gloria?

Why is Florida so close?

As a Tampa boy, I can offer these possible answers. I mention them as I think they can be overcome.

ONE :Media.. I can tell you there has been a media BLITZ, one where you cannot watch Television without seeing a Romney ad. The same is true for Radio, but TV is aimed at the people who do not listen to talk radio, the, you guessed it, the "independent voter."

TWO: The incompetence of the Florida Democratic party. It is true, we do have one of the worst, the most Blue Dog of Blue Dogs, home of Ms. weaksauce herself, Debbie Wasserman Schulz. Many of these Blue Dogs are NOT being agressive for Obama, as they know they only hold office because they have an opponent that is often a wacko tea party type. It says a lot when the most popular non republican in this state is Charlie Crist, who was willing to drill baby drill before he got ditched for VP in favor of Palin.

THREE: bitterness, on the one hand, there are still many PUMAs here, and also, there are people who wondered why the hell BP was not thrown in chains. Granted, we did have Rick Scott, but we have not seen Rick Scott's cage rattled down here. The badguys have the courts, and they know it. They are even about to fire half the Florida Supreme court so Rick Scott can put in toadies. There is a fantasy I have admittedly, where Obama appoints a special prosecutor for all the vote fraud, one Charlie Crist, who actually, unlike Holder, was a very aggressive Attorney general.

FOUR: Lack of community: Sorry, I have to say it, but many down here in Florida are too lazy and detached to get involved. Many are people that still treat Tampa as the place they retired to, or got a new job, not a community to live in. Compare Charlotte to Tampa, how many people can tell what Tampa looked like? Why? because instead of actually going to the local merchants, the GOP simply took Franklin Street, a series of derelict buildings that used to be the downtown, and made a makeshift area so that the peasants could not come in. Even GOP delegates compared it to Panem in the "hunger games." Yet, where was the outrage, where was the protest that these Cigar afficandos would not even stop at Ybor City, which has shops were Cigars are literally hand rolled? Nowhere, even though we got put on the hook for half a Million dollars.

Libertarians?

I based this op because I saw Epic Beard man on TYT lionize Gary Johnson. Granted, Gary J is in his moment, as Colorado is about to legalize Cannabis, but then Epic Beard Man kept lionizing him, asking "why could you not be a Democratic candidate? Gary then went on to say he would ban income Tax and all other regulations. Epic Beard man did not say one word, asking him what such a world would be like.

Here is the problem I have with these folks: Their Iran policy is nice, their free speech policy is great, but when they talk about taking regulations and taxes away from corporations, how can they NOT see that these corporations would run amok? Do we want to see a world where the Romneys and Koches would be above the law, and feel free to poison and attack anyone they wanted, any way they wanted?

If you are a libertarian, talk me down. What will keep the corporations from going berserk?
