re Alabama: I hate to be paranoid but

How much you wanna bet Bannon is trying to stir up some "lone Gunmen" to get revenge or intimidate people. I would not put it past the folks that brought you Charlottesville to pull some sort of crap, especially as in Alabama is easy to get guns.

one lesson to take from tonight

the 50 state strategy STILL WORKS. We need to be involved as a party in EVERY state, even and especially the ones we write off.

If we campaigned in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin the way we did in Alabama, Hillary would probably be president! Heaven help us, we need to play like this is 2018 and 2020!

The best part of Jones victory speech

Was where he quote Martin Luther King:

"Dr. King liked to quote, 'The moral arc of the universe is long but it bends toward justice,'" he said. "Tonight, ladies and gentlemen… in this time, in this place, you helped bend that moral arc a little closer to that justice and you did it, not only was it bent more, not only was its aim true, but you sent it right through the heart of the great state of Alabama ."

possible silver lining of 2016?

Now, let me say this, I am NOT going to so Susan Sarandon and say that trump will lead to some "glorious revolution." NO political move is worth killing people, especially the innocents who are far away from the consequences. However, if there is one good I see, and let's put good with heavy quotes, is that Trump is not only vulgar, but outright incompetent, which might make whatever he does easier to undo.

question, since al fell on his sword, who would replace him?

I confess I am not as up on Minnesota politics, other than knowing the gov is a democrat. Minnesotans, can you help us out?

what we must NOT do about Franken

Look, I have been here, and already I have seen venom among Democrats, against Democrats. It does not mater if you like Franken or Gillibrand, or (insert D here), the fact is, the way this will play to the GOP (IF WE LET IT) is that we will rip at each other's faces, especially over an issue of social justice, which is a polite way of seeing the Male Chauvinists will say "see what those witches made us do!" This is the perfect demoralizer for 2018, and gives cover for the evil voodoo that the GOP will do to steal elections, and their Russian comrades too.

My point is not about sex harassment, my point is that the GOP knows we love civil wars. If we allow our anger to cripple people who just happen to be some of the best chances to get Trump out of office, we will have done their work for them again.

It is no accident that many of the women who are already being blasted at DU were threats to Trump, and for that matter, so is Al Franken.

Bottom line, we cannot let democrat fight democrat, especially not now when there is a real war going on. If it does, then people a lot nastier then Sanders (hey Bernie, funny how YOU chimed in quick) will try to ensure we are always divided, and the future generations will be able to curse us as this country become one big waste dump, with the Rich Nobles hunting us for sport.
