exboyfil's JournalGeorge Perez, beloved superhero comic book artist, dies at 67
Some tremendous art on Wolfman's Teen Titans run. Also Crisis. 67 is way too young to die. RIP to his family and friends.
Thank you for the exciting and beautiful art. You made Wolfman's story come alive. Made my college years a blast.
"A comic book legend is gone. Five months after publicly announcing his terminal cancer diagnosis, artist and writer George Pérez who redefined the Teen Titans, created the first great superhero crossover event, and influenced countless other artists has died, his friends and family confirmed on social media Saturday. He was 67 years old."

Here is a copy of the Collins-Murkowski bill
The House should pass it immediately.

Senate should work towards a filibuster carve out for it.
You can't teach about slavery by bringing a cotton plant to class?
Our world has gone truly insane. This is the kind of crap that gets demagogues like Trump elected.

A Creative Arts parent, Rebecca Archer, who is Black and Jewish, was concerned about the lesson for her mixed-race children. She expressed fears that the lesson, which put the raw cotton in the childrens hands, could evoke so many deeply hurtful things about this country.
There are people who think this lesson plan promotes empathy; Ive heard that and understand that, said Archer. There are a lot of people who dont understand why its hurtful or offensive.
Another parent told The Chronicle they felt the teacher was being treated in a way that she called unbearably cruel. The parent, who chose to remain anonymous, said that her child considers the teacher one of his favorites.
I think its insane they would treat a teacher like this and basically discard a teacher that has been so inspiring and dedicated, said the parent, who requested anonymity to protect her child. It feels like it was a lesson in sensitivity and empathy. Thats why my mind is so blown, and I cant stop being angry about it.
Keto diet update
A1c dropped form 9.1% to 5.7% in three months. Dropped 58 pounds in 4.5 months. Lipids and liver function tests dramatically improved.
Strongly recommend keto to anyone who is obese. I think it saved my life.

Question about the NFL non-exclusive franchise tag
In terms of using the non-exclusive tag for either Jackson or Murray, what prevents a team from structuring their 1st round picks to minimize value for the Ravens or Cards? For example would a team structure their draft picks to give up the 31st and 32nd pick two years from now or some equivalent downgrading of their first round draft picks. Like trading their 2023 (or 20245 in Murray's case) 1st round draft pick and change to a good team for their 2024 (2025) and 2025 (2026) 1st round draft picks? Then give those picks up if the Ravens or Cards don't match the offer? In essense you are giving up a 1st round draft pick for a quality starting QB, even with the high salary, that is a great deal when you look at watch Wilson and Watson fetched.
Ubuntu users
I recently acquired a used computer that is running the Ubuntu operating system. There seems to be a newuser account that requires a password (I can web browse etc until the machine times out and goes to the newuser). I don't know this newuser password. I would either like to figure out the newuser password or create an account with a new password.
I can open up the console to do direct commands, but I am in the newuser prompt. It asks for a password everytime I try to do something.
Any suggestions?
$25 million judge against Oberlin College upheld by appeals court
An Ohio appeals court has upheld a $25 million judgment against Oberlin College awarded to a local business that successfully claimed it was libeled by the school in the aftermath of a shoplifting incident.
The 9th District Court of Appeals on Thursday rejected all of the historic liberal arts college's arguments and upheld a $6.2 million payment in attorney fees.
Oberlin students and staff protested outside Gibson's Bakery and Food Mart after the shoplifting incident in November 2016.
A jury in June 2019 awarded store owners Allyn Gibson and his son, David Gibson, $44 million in compensatory and punitive damages. A judge later reduced the award to $25 million.

It appears Oberlin College has no friends. I haven't seen very many opinion pieces in support of Oberlin. By the way the Dean at the center of this controversy got a new position as a VP at Oglethorpe University.
Former Dean of Students and Vice President Meredith Raimondo left Oberlin in October to begin her role as vice president for student affairs at Oglethorpe University.

A business model for zero entry commercial hot tubs
that would be automatically cleaned after use.
My mom has a tumor in her spine that causes her great pain. One of the recommendations by her doctor would be a walk in tub for home use. She is moving out of her house to a retirement apartment before she could add one. No where in our community did the retirement apartments offer such a feature.
I was wondering if that could be a business model for a retirement community or an ancillary business set up to do it. The best option given to my mom at the first choice retirement community was the hot tub at the Y which definitely would not work (the furthest walk in the facility, screaming kids, and no zero entry but steps).
She went with the alternative - a heated pool at the number two facility that maintains a relatively high temperature (still not bath temperature level). She also still needs to contend with steps, but the walk is much shorter and she doesn't have to leave the facility.
I would add one to our house, but our shower/tubs are all on the second floor. I still might add one for my wife and myself, but it doesn't do my mom any good since she can't navigate the steps.
Any suggestions?
Cops Unaware They Were Filmed Breaking In - The FBI Warned Them
Where my family is originally from. Not a surprise at all. If you can't trust the FBI to police the police, then you are left the question:
Who watches the Watchmen?
