This "Nader" talking point is convenient

but you are placing the blame in the wrong lap.

Had Al Gore actually fought the counting of votes, he would have been President. I was in Florida in 2000. That was the most crooked election and counting of votes in industrialized countries. Blaming Nader is convenient, but Gore is the one that all of you should be pointing the finger at. Harris is crooked as a barrel of snakes, everyone knew it at the time, but Al Gore just gave up quietly. In retrospect, it makes me wonder what they had on him.

Nader is convenient because he is used to say "See, this is what happens when you don't vote for a Democratic candidate even if you can't hardly recognize the D in him/her except for the attachment at the end of their name, and what happens when you naysay the policies of the third way!".

The reality is that Gore folded like an accordion when he should have fought the decision. You have to ask yourself why. I know I do, because I fucking voted for the man, my girlfriend voted for the man and we dragged other people to the polls to vote for the man.

Your talking point is invalid. Too many of us GOTV in Florida for Gore, but he threw in the towel without a fight. So NO. I don't blame Nader - I didn't vote for him. I blame GORE for not stepping up to the plate for whatever reason.

I won't entertain the idea of anybody else that cries NADER when Gore was his own worst enemy by not fighting the decision, and neither should any other good Democrat. I don't have to be in love with third way to be a Democrat, and I can vote for Democrats that I want to vote for. That does NOT make me a Nader lover, since I didn't vote for the SOB in the first place.

I screwed up the roast - EDIT: No, I didn't!

I meant to cook it medium rare, I used a meat thermometer, but got scared that it wouldn't be done. I let is set for 20 minutes, and it's juicy but it's medium well in the center .

It's a 2.5 lbs Eye of Round that I tried with the oven searing method - you cook it for 7 minutes per lbs at 500, then turn the oven off and leave it for 2 1/2 hours.

It tastes good, but WAY too done.

EDIT - I let it sit, and the middle is a perfect ruby. It could be less done, but I've never met a piece of cooked meat that I didn't think would be better if it was less done. I like steaks with the breath knocked out of them so that they can't flee the plate.

Anyway, the gravy tastes like absolute sin

Walking outside into a heat stroke

Humid on the level of 90%+, temperatures 90+, why in the name of all that is holy did I not grow up in the north? I'll take snow and bathe in it about right now. It was like a tropical vacation for me to travel up North to Iowa, Illinois and Michigan in January. I had to put a coat on!

Ack! Some sort of white ugly bugs in my onions!

Dad says they are termites. I hope they don't take over the whole garden. My cuke plant's leaves are turning yellow even though it is producing huge cucumbers, and I had a bell pepper that turned black on one side, even though it was getting big.

What on earth do I do?

There are HORDES of these little white looking bugs with the density of ants at the roots of my onions.

I was at a function, and I was bored, so I hung back and hit the snack table. I'm pretty sure I ate every stalk of celery there, and for some reason, it was delicious.

I ran into my high school crush

in the grocery store. She's beautiful, and she told me I looked 17 (which, I have taken great care of myself).

She seemed so forlorn, though. She told me she has seen me everywhere and never got the nerve to talk to me. She never got the nerve to talk to ME!?

I at least sent her my phone number to her phone, and called and left a message.

My god, how could she not notice how beautiful and accomplished she is?
