Used to say Frank Rich was 100% correct...now 98%..I have read this article three times

and it is written in an issue of NEW YORK MAGAZINE (not the new yorker which is another)
which is a 2016 issue more than anything else.

Frank Rich likes high drama.
I used to say Frank Rich was 100% correct, but then he quit (was canned?) the NY Times and has practically disappeared writing once or twice a month in the magazine, and sometimes adding stuff on line.

I read this 3 times, and also read the Hillary 2016 article and the Jeb 2016 article in the same issue, which really was more about 2016 than 2012...I think both John and Frank take it as a given that Obama will win.

this article has to be taken into that context.

I myself think Hillary45 will defeat Jeb (two titans, the Kennedy/Reagan match we never got).

That will be the biggest election ever (if you can believe there is a bigger one than this year.)
This year we have one Titan(Obama) and one lightweight poser (Mitt). We have not had 2 titans since???

LBJ/Nixon never happened in 1968.

it has been 1 titan/ 1 lightweight each cycle now (lightweight is not necessarily a bad word either but by Titan I mean game changing different between each person of equal stature in their power to get their fans to vote and have their unconditional back because they are such opposites. OR the party fractures itself, turning a heavyweight into a lightweight
(in 1968 we saw that happen, and in 1980 we also saw it happen.)

United each side stands, united they win (and having someone the vast majority of the party likes vs. having a candidate just to say they don't like the other guy).

Reagan Vs. Teddy would have been just that. (1984 would have been the perfect time too, not an innerparty war like 1980 turned out to be. Teddy should have made a deal with Jimmy
and had the party been united, Jimmy would easily have beaten down the actor.(and I love Teddy).

And Rich is 100% correct, if you consider the Bushfamily the cocharoaches of the world.
Because thank God Jeb isn't running this year.
Compared to Mittens, people are pining for W of all things (it was a great debate moment when Obama KO'd Mitt using the logic that Mitt/Glove are even more draconian than bush was.
So by 2016, with Glove(Ryan) getting blamed for Mitt's lose(they will say if only Mitt wasn't forced by the farright that Ryan leads...
Jeb will be the "sane" one (with the minority wife to attempt to get the Hispanic/Latino vote)
(which is why President Obama in 2013 needs to spend a good heapin' hunk of his capital and get amnesty/citizenship (then also have millions of new taxpayer dollars to get the deficit down)

leading to the battle of the next 8 years.

When Hillary45 wins, we will own the courts, the house, the senate and WE MUST WIN THE GOVERNORSHIPS in every state we can, then we decide how the election boards are run
and the Jim/Juan Crow bullshit will stop.

That is what Frank Rich in the political issue of NY Magazine is talking about.
Not 2012 at all. Because you gotta read the whole issue.
(also remember John Heillerman(MSNBC, writer in NY MAG) and Rich both were major Hillary supporters to start off with.
And remember for those that are not from the NY area, Frank Rich started off a a Broadway play reviewer, perhaps the single biggest one ever, and his words made or broke a million dollar production instantly. A bad review from him closed the show.
So Frank Rich knows and loves drama.


I used to say Frank Rich was 100% correct til he left the NY Times. Now it's just 98%.
But I do love reading him and his views.

OHHH the most delicious irony of all happened last night

Mitt Romney had his Gerald Ford moment on live tv
(when Candy Crowley spanked him down and in live real time fact checked Mitt's lie.)

This happened when Gerald Ford debating Jimmy Carter showed he did not know what the hell he was talking about.

And now last night, Mitt Romney showed he was a stupid lying moron just like Gerald Ford was that night.

That night in 1976 led to Jimmy Carter being elected President.

I hope to visit St. George Isle next year or 2014

I have wanted to visit based on the images in the song (and later video) St George isle since I first heard the song. I have been in Florida many times, but never stayed in the panhandle I hope to visit St. George Isle next year or 2014 area. We are thinking, depending on finances, about a cross country drive in the spring from NY to Los Angeles' beaches, then on the way back making a number of stops and staying there awhile.

Or if we need to do shorter and more realistic, driving south with stops in DC NC and St. George Isle(instead of going to Orlando and further south) and just relax for a week or so.

And I thank you very much, for mentioning St. George Isle and the beaches in your post, and it has me wanting to get in the car and drive right now and spend the winter there. (I am so tired of winters here and know last years warm one won't happen again this year).

and never give up the fight and dreams. We have changed the world and we all continue to do so, even if it seems slow and that time is passing us by with all the new stuff out there.

I often think of my grandparents,and even the two great-grandparents that I knew, who all are deceased now for 35 and many more years, and how much they witnessed in their life, and since they have been gone, how much has changed since.

I'm graham4anything. While only here at DU since Feb. for those that don't know me...

Hi.
I figure I guess some of you don't know me due to some of the replies to posts of mine the last week or so(since the debate).So let me state for the record. (and yes, I write sort of stream of consciousness.)

my board name is Graham4anything, and is a tribute to one of my heroes, Bob Graham, Senator and Gov. of Florida.(whom I believe should have been VP at anytime in 2000, 2004, 2008 and then still today in 2012).Florida would have been ours without a doubt in a landslide had Al Gore picked Bob.

My internet history-
I was posting elsewhere (CGCS) since Nov. 2004, but the site unexpectedly closed down and disappeared in Feb.2012 (you cannot even find much cache in google for it) I had over 80,000 posts there, the second most of any non-moderator/administrator in that board's 8 year history.

I was one of the few Democrats in that place by the end, filled with people who were Bushies, republicans, libertarians and not what they appeared to be, including some government workers at the very end I believe. There were hardly any President Obama supporters remaining and I fought them off til the end.(I was still standing when the board up and disappeared).

It was the off-shoot of the old original John Kerry board I signed up as BobGraham4VP after Howard Dean got out of the race by the phony "scream" issue (yet another time backers got timid and negative and sold Howard down the river.) After the vp picked was so bad, I was told to change the name a bit, so it became graham4anything, the name meaning was- Bob should be picked for anything in the Kerry cabinet.

I had over 80,000 posts at CGCS and never needed to go elsewhere after that, because what little time I had to post was spent there (and besides, people had cut/pasted my posts and put elsewhere and it was all in google then

I was also prior to that on the Draft Al Gore board in I think it was late 2002,early 2003 and continued on that board til Al himself said he wasn't running, and please stop with the Draft movement. That board then continued under a different name, sort of a pirate version still exists with posts sparatic but some of the greatest people in the world were/are on that site.

But I did not have time to post the same stuff in 3 places, and I had made friends and remained there. (even met in person in various states with five of the posters).
(a big shoutout to the late Mr.Jim who passed away now about 2 years ago I think, perhaps my favorite poster I ever ran into on the internet).

I always read here at DU, but never signed up until after the first board I am talking about disappeared from the face of the internet. (and that board actually was one you had to pay a subscription to monthly/yearly.)

So, no I am not a moron. I am not a troll as some called me. (but hey, you are free to write whatever you want.)

And I believe in positive thinking, and that making one's morale low, lowers everyone.

I would prefer to see the glass as half full, especially as we only need 192 electoral
votes before 1045 pm EASTERN time on 11/6/2012 to acquire the lease to the White house for another 4 years.
(if you wish, I will explain my math.)

I fully expect over 230 electoral votes by that time, but anything over 192 is gravy on my mashed taters.

192 is the magic number before 1045pm eastern time. Keep that number in mind to refer to it then.

Where were you during the debachle of 2000? Where it seemed nobody cared, everyone it appeared must have agreed with Ralph Nader that Bush and Gore were one and the same, because nobody was at the courthouses, nobody but phony Brooks Brother agitators from Tom DeLay's office in Texas even appeared at the recount never done to stop it...where was our side to stop them from doing what the court asked for?(Florida court). So before you judge please ask!

And as there were 1000s of posters on that other site, all of them may tell you I am obnoxious, I might be to some an asshole, but that what I say is true and my belief, and that I have and always will be a democratic supporter,

I backed JFK, LBJ,(whom I adore and looks greater and greater as the years go on), HHH, McGovern(though I knew he couldn't win), Jimmy Carter, Jimmy Carter(though I love Teddy and thought he was the best of all the Kennedy's because he actually achieeved what the two others only dreamed, Mondale, and I am a major Jerry Brown fan the three times he ran, voted twice for Jesse Jackson for President, and loved the idea of Brown/Jackson before smears ended that dream,Bob Graham(my board name is in honor of Sen/Gov. Bob Graham (who was the single most popular person in Florida, even more popular than Mickey Mouse(wink to those who heard me say that phrase oh so often in 2004), Howard Dean, Al Gore, and I daily wear my Barach Obama button....

and the Button says BARACK OBAMA 2004...that is NOT a typo- that is from 2004, 4 years before he ran in 2008 I was a fan, did you even know Mr. Obama at that time?, and I 100% want and support Hillary Rodham Clinton45 in 2016 and 2020. (the 45 indicates her president number when she wins.)

I feel like I am at the McCarthy searching for reds hearings like my fellow Jewish people were having to tell my credentials.

Like I said when I was protesting in person, the Vietnam War way back in the early 1970s.

And my most passionate issues are Civil Rights (which is why I so admire LBJ for doing what he did, when he did not have to, and it used up so much of his capital), and Women's rights and Gay rights, and Immigration rights(I want 100% amnesty and full citizenship quickly).

I am 100% anti-gun, anti-bullet, and anti-NRA. If you see me in the gun threads, it is only to argue against it. Let me make that perfectly clear that I think people are misinterpreting the second and one day with a less conservative draconian court, common sense will prevail. Thank you.

And sad to say, I am a NY Met and NY Jet and bowling and tennis fan. But I won't convert to the Yankees of Dallas Cowboy or other winning teams, I will remain what I am.

Peace, love and only vote for democrats, or those in specific races where to win you pick the one who will caucus/vote for the democratic party (like Angus King this year).
To me, if you are a democrat,a vote in protest against my/our party,for someone with zero chance of winning, is a vote for the other side(but that is MY opinion.)

I WILL NEVER FORGET JDIMYTAI DAMOUR, DIED BLACK FRIDAY 2008

every year since on whatever board I am on, I have posted a rememberance of this gentle giant, true hero. I was planning on doing so again come Black Friday 2012.

I will also post this now in this thread.

GREED reared it's ugly head that day.

Mr. Damour died working as a security guard in a Valley Stream Long Island NY Walmart
and as he rushed to the rescue of pregant woman he was crushed to death by the mob stampede of greedy mostly white shoppers looking to get their 50 bucks off 50 inch tvs and computers.

Worse, the vultures did not stop, and the store, worst of all, kept going.Cash registered ringing with a dead man and injured people lying on the ground.

Mr. Damour (d'amour=love_ died for our greediness.

Walmart=the ruin of America.

If you are proUnion, proWorker DO NOT SHOP AT WALMART.
The drugs are cheap, yes, they are. You get what you pay for. Walmart can be taken down but you need to inconvience yourself alittle and go elsewhere, and maybe pay a little more.

Rest in peace Jdimytai, I for one will NEVER EVER forget you.
You are a hero and inspiration and a beautiful person. You are not forgotten.
