Calling All Voters! Act Now to Retain your Right to Vote!

In recent times GOP Governers in several key 'swing states' have launched an aggressive attack on voter rights pushing for bills that would disinfranchise a large portion of these states' voters. The GOP has been heard to say that it is pusing for a 'Permanent Republican Majority' and it now appears that they'll do anything to get it. Voter disinfranchisement is nothing new-Jerrymandering is an old tactic used to cook voting districts that dates to the last century and there are many other forms of it as well. And it is NEVER to be tolerated, anyway, any form. It was voter disinfranchisement coupled with ballot fraud that allowed George W. Bush to usurp the White House despite having lost both the popular and electoral vote.

Voting is the only weapon that many of us have against the massive, far reaching machine designed to protect the rich and powerful status quo. Admittedly it is a stiletto pitted against a broadsword, but the alternative is no power at all.

Here is an article detailing the disinfranchisement machine the GOP has put in place including the assumed reason behind it.

http://jonathanturley.org/2011/07/31/the-gop-and-voter-disenfranchisement/

Once you have read the article I hope that you feel sufficiently offended to take action. Now here's the good news: It's relatively simple to do something about this on a grass roots level. Simply look up 'voter disinfranchisement' to find a number of petitions available on the web. The Democratic Governer's Association has one, as does the ACLU. I have posted a courtesy link to the ACLU's petition below.

Please help me and other concerned voters take action now.

Addressing a couple salient replies to my 'GAO Audit of the Fed' Thread

I want to address a couple of what I thought were important replies to my thread "GAO Audits the Fed for the First Time'. These issues that I think are important arguing points. The two points I want to address are these:

A): GAO Auditing the Fed is 'Old News'- there are 'Other Outrages' now,
and:
B): 16 trillion dollar figure is a 'lie' created by people who have no idea how the system works.

To point A let me start by saying this- I did not say that this was breaking news. And it isn't my place to report the news. I wrote the post precisely because I didn't think that the article had gotten as much media coverage as it should have for one of its age. Secondly the criminals that pulled off this heist want the taxpayers and voters to be bored with it and think it's outdated so that they no longer have culpability for it. As long as it's forgotten they're once more in safe waters. We should not provide a voter statute of limitations for international criminal banksters. This is precisely WHY I posted the thread. It does not matter if it happened 5 years ago or 50. A staggering sum of our taxpayer money was handed out to foreign banks in secret without anyone's approval or oversight. That deserves some attention.

To point B I would like to respond by saying this first: The way in which the system works has NOTHING to do with this crime. My perported ignorance of the credit/loan system has nothing to do with the fact that a huge amount of money was taken from the Fed and handed out to foreign banks to keep the global power elite afloat. As Bernie Sanders himself remarked this is 'socialism' among the rich. The point here is that it was a 'secret bailout'. Secret, meaning that nobody was told it was to happen, nobody voted for it, and nobody supervised it. The bailout was approved to shore up our failing economy, not to allow global ultra-elites to continue to live in obscene wealth. This was a nice little bit of misdirection, but I've been in far too many arguments to fall for it. It wouldn't matter if they only gave out ten grand and if the whole system was run by leprechauns. The point is that no sum of money should have been handed out to foreign bankers in secret without anyone's approval to shore up the global elite.

Secondly I would like to add that if anyone feels that I am ignorant on any given topic, ANYTHING from Finance to to the Easter Bunny I welcome them to educate me. Send me a good, explanatory article of how it works and then you'll be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

I would close this article by saying that I didn't write these articles to make friends or become popular or show off. I wrote it to address an issue that I believe was a criminal act which the perpetrators thought dead and buried. Undoubtedly some will not like what I have to say. That's fine. Either way my goal is served. If it turns out that nobody cares after all then I'll dust off my boots and move on having done all I can do. Then the Governers can handle it.

Three Cheers and a loud Huzzah for Sandra Fluke!

I applaud Sandra Fluke, the college student attacked recently by Rush Limbaugh. The Right Wing social terrorist called her a 'prostitute' and a 'slut' because of her use of contraceptives. Fluke responded by appearing on CNN's 'Starting Point' to defend herself and other women from the anti-female foment of the Right.

Here is an article detailing it:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/03/13/sandra-fluke_n_1341449.html

It has long been known that the 'right wing' is a boy's club of wealthy old men where women are at best accessories. This institutional lack of respect has never been as outspoken since the advent of right wing hate radio. It appears this time Limbaugh has gone too far.

I applaud Sandra Fluke for standing up to the pompous windbag and bully that is Rush Limbaugh. And you should too. Let's all give her a loud round of applauds!

Out of Touch: The GOP Doesn't 'Get it'

When one reads or listens to the veritable storm of blabber coming out of the 'right' these days from personages such as radio personality and right-wingnut hate monger Rush Limbaugh, or the seriously out of touch Republican Senator Ryan Mcdougle who introduced a bill requiring women considering abortions in Virginia to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound it becomes eminently clear that the GOP is hopelessly out of touch and doesn't get it.
Men like Limbaugh and Mcdougle are clearly tragically misaligned with the best interests of the public. They spout hatred and persecution on a daily basis in a bald faced, shameless and unapologetic matter and when, inevitably, their absurd remarks and actions draw a firestorm of criticism from the public they cry 'Et Tu Brutei'! 'Not Fair!'

Consider Rush Limbaugh's recent indecent comment referring to college student Sandra Fluke as a 'slut' and a 'prostitute' for seeking birth control. It appears that among the right wing there is nothing wrong with a comment such as this. But ask the question 'Rush Limbaugh is a known painkiller addict-does that make him an addict? Should we use the word 'junkie' or 'dope-head'? And see what your reaction would be. Men like Limbaugh regularly and repeatedly malign people like Fluke and see nothing wrong with it. Indeed they call it their 'moral obligation'! But when anyone makes a comment concerning their lack of tact and indecency their party rallies around them shouting, stomping their feet and pointing their fingers in a show of nepotistic reactionism. What was the old saying when we were children? A couple come to mind- 'What goes around comes around' and 'you can dish it out, but you can't take it'. Clearly, the GOP doesn't 'get' that their ugly comments and destructive rhetoric have inevitable and well deserved negative reactions. Out of Touch.

Also consider Senator Ryan McDougle (R, Virginia) who proposed a bill to the Virginia Senate that would require any woman seeking an abortion to undergo a compulsory transvaginal ultrasound before the proceedure could be performed. This is clearly a discriminatory and mysogenistic move which is a livid insult to the dignity of women living in the state of Virginia. Adding another layer of insult to the offense is the fact that the Va Senate is composed of old men. How are women being fairly represented in this case? Out of Touch.
One wonders how it is that men like McDougle ever get the notions to introduce bills such as these? Is he a pervert? He insults the voters of Virginia and abroad (as indeed this bill could have broad ranging consequences) by assuming anyone would vote for such an absurd and invasive thing in the first place. What woman would willingly sign a vote on a bill giving the government the right to violate the most personal aspects of her body as it desires? Further, the Senator insults the unapologetically insults the public's sense of decency with a bill like this. Out of Touch.

Has the Right Wing become so disconnected from reality that they can no longer see the shame and indecency of their own actions? It would seem so. Medical science has a term for individuals who cannot consciously define between the rights and wrongs of their actions:

Sociopaths.

It's Finally Happened! GAO Audits Fed for the 1st time Ever (Reposted)

to appeal.

The Goverment Accountability Office-the Congressional arm of Congress which investigates how governmental money is spent-has for the first time in its nearly one hundred year history performed an audit of the Federal Reserve. The audit was requested by Ron Paul, Jim DeMint and Bernie Sanders primarily, with some others under the Dodd-Frank bill which was passed last year. And what they found while sadly, was not truly unexpected (at least by me) was a livid and scarlet outrage.

It turns out that in a clear act of 'elitist socialism' the American Mega Banks have been bailing out other richsters in foreign countries to the tune of 16 trillion dollars of OUR money-all without any form of oversight, accountability, or even a vote! This kind of unilateral nepotism among the world's power elite is a truly terrifying thing to behold.

According to the article which I found posted here:

http://www.unelected.org/audit-of-the-federal-reserve-reveals-16-trillion-in-secret-bailouts

The audit was not comprehensive but was a watered down version of what was originally planned. Paul and others plan to seek a more comprehensive audit next year.
The big question then becomes "So now we know what's going on-what are we going to do about it?" Sadly, the answer most likely will be 'nothing' or at most very little. These globalist pseudo-aristocrats have long existed in a shroud of non-culpability and continue to exist in the notion of personal invincibility and immunity from the law. We as taxpayers and responsibile citizens have a right and an obligation to stand up to the government and DEMAND that they take some form of relevent action appropriate to the nature and scale of the crime. After all our nations Founders created a system on the grounds of 'Rule of Consent by the Governed' not 'Consent to Rule by the Rich'. "A Sheepish population will have a wolfish government" after all as the quote goes.

**I reposted this thread in a more suitable category as I somehow managed to stick it in the wrong place and get it locked the first time. Hopefully now people will be able to reply.**
