I have a perfect solution for those

who don't like the format change to DU4.

Make available a version that would look like the screen on a Radio Shack TRS-80.

Well, we finally got moved.

We spent the last night in our mobile home on Saturday night. The big moving day was Sunday. My grandson brought a big pickup truck and a trailer. Every thing is out of there except for a few things in a rented storage locker we will have to make another trip for.

With a few relative and some neighbors helping, it didn't cost us anything, except for a few aching muscles. The new place is 175 miles from the old place. I haven't moved that far in 33 years. Hopefully this is our forever home. Right now my drug of choice is Ibuprofen.

The new manufactured home is in place but there is still work that the contractor has to do before we get an occupancy permit. They are not moving very fast on that. We are staying with our daughter about 47 miles from there. We are very anxious to get moved in, but we are very comfortable here for now. It's in a Gold Country town called Placerville. Nice town with a lot of interesting history, and a nice "old town" section to walk around.

I'm an Atheist, but pray for me anyway.

I just ate a Whopper, large fries and a large root beer.

We are moving on Sunday, our kitchen is all boxed up, so we gave in and went to Burger King for dinner. I haven't done that in a long time. I blame my wife. It was her idea. I feel like I won't be hungry until Tuesday.

Exciting day today!

Our new manufactured home has been delivered to the site.

Some of you may remember months ago I said we were moving. After many delays, it's finally going to happen. My grandson has a home on five acres in California's northern Gold Country and he wanted us to be closer to him and the great grandchildren. So he has purchased a manufactured home and we will move there and rent it from him.

Hopefully, this will be our forever home. As delayed as it was, (it was supposed to be there in March) it all worked out because our current mobile home took longer than expected to sell. But it is now sold and we will be moving on Sunday. There is still much work to be done to set the new place up, water, electric, septic, etc. We will stay at our daughter's place nearby until it's ready to move into.

We have been packing all week and I'm sitting in a mobile home full of boxes. It's going to be a busy week, so If I'm not here as much as usual, you now know why.

Re the trouble in the middle east:

Go fill yor gas tanks right now. The price of gas will go nowhwere but up. Whether it's justified or not, The oil companies will use it as an excuse to raise prices.

What is most likely to promote violence among the wingnuts,

Biden winning or Trump winning.

I kind of see it as a toss-up. These assholes want to get violent either way.

We are pet-sitting this weekend.

We are at my grandson's house with four very rambunctious pugs, a six-month-old labrador retriever, a maine coon cat and an elderly tuxedo cat.

When we are in the downstairs family room and they are all upstairs it sounds like a bowling alley up there.

I had an interesting and fun day today.

I live one mile from the shore of the largest natural lake in California. It's 144,000 acres and over 100 miles of shoreline. There has been a seaplane meet here every September for around 40 years or more. They haven't done it since 2019 because of the pandemic. The area where they usually gather is now a new park under construction, so they landed then rolled right up a boat ramp and parked on the street around another park.

Main street was closed off for food and other vendors. I walked down there from home and spent most of the day walking around, looking through antique stores and thrift stores and ran into a few people I had not seen in awhile. I sat down to eat a hot dog on a bus stop bench (no buses because the street was closed) and there was an elderly lady there with two cats sitting next to her. I asked her if the seat was taken and she said no, and I'll move the cats if you are allergic to them. I told her I wasn't and she said how about marijuana? I said no, not allergic that either and she proceeded to roll up a joint and smoke it. We talked for awhile about rescuing animals, I finished my hot dog and wished her a good day.

Later I saw another elderly lady in a wheelchair inching her way doen the sidewalk ever so slowly by going backwards and pushing with one foot. I think her arms were too frail turn the big wheels. I asked her if I could assist her and she said that would be nice. She was looking for a friend that was working at one of the craft booths but wasn't sure where she was. I spent about a half hour pushing her up the street until we found her. She thanked me and I wished her a good day.

During the pandemic I had forgotten the simple joy of simply interacting with people I didn't even know. It was a nice feeling. I think I may have walked four or five miles today. It's been a long time since I have done that, and I was happy these 70 year old legs could still do it. And well enough that I could help someone whose legs no longer could.

Third party candidates.

I'm retired and mostly home all day. The only cable news I watch with any regularity is MSNBC. I have them on, at least as background noise most of the day. I wanted to note here, that they are not giving much if any oxygen to the third party folks. It's almost like they don't exist. Keep up the good work, MSNBC.

Now if they would only treat Trump more like that.
