If there is one thing that drives me absolutely bananas, it’s people spreading misinformation via social media under the guise of “educating”. I’ve seen this happen in several ways – through infographics that twist data in ways that support a conclusion that is ultimately false, or else through “meaningful” quotes falsely attributed to various celebrities, or by cobbling together a few actual facts with statements that are patently untrue to create something that seems plausible on the surface but is, in fact, full of crap.

San Diego Now Looking To Build TWO New Stadiums
The Chargers finally have their new Downtown Stadium plan to a point where they can unveil to the public. According to sources close to the process the Bolts will make their grand presentation early next week, either Tuesday, 3/29 or Wednesday, 3/30, so they can start the clock on their quest to get a new initiative on the November ballot.
The Bolts will likely be trying to push through a so-called “Convadium,” a new stadium combined with a convention center expansion in the East Village. If they are successful they would leave vacant the current Mission Valley site that houses Qualcomm Stadium. Here, as the saying goes, is where the plot thickens.

A Jezebel analysis of campaign finance data has found that of the six active presidential campaigns, four have significant gender wage disparities. Most notably, Ted Cruz’s campaign on average pays male staffers $20,000 more than female staffers, and of the ten highest paid staffers on Bernie Sanders’ campaign, not a single one is a woman.

At the end of January, Elizabeth May Davidson, a 26-year-old Iowa field organizer for Donald Trump, filed a discrimination complaint against the campaign for a workplace that was hostile to women: she alleged the campaign regularly paid men more than women for the same jobs, allowed men to take on a more significant role in producing rallies, and that the first time she met Trump, he made a comment about her appearance.

Unless an employee files an official workplace complaint like Davidson did, these campaigns are largely opaque, closed shops. The one thing we do have access to, however, is information about pay.

We looked at year-end finance reports for each campaign to attempt to gauge how close each staff was to gender parity: Do presidential campaigns employ a comparable number of women to men? Do they pay female employees equitably? Are an equal number of women given leadership roles and salaries to match?

On a humanitarian level, most Democratic lawmakers on their worst days, far exceed most Republican lawmakers on their best days. When the Left doesn’t vote, we are essentially giving our votes to the Right, which means we are helping to elect politicians from a party where racism, misogyny, homophobia and xenophobia dominate their congressional voting, lawmaking, and profit-making agendas. It’s a party that has obstructed/blocked every good bill President Obama has introduced. It’s a party that produces hate mongers like Donald Trump and Ted Cruz. Not voting is not only bad for Democrats, it’s a bad deal for all Americans. If you think your vote doesn’t count, think again. Antonin Scalia’s death has already changed the way the Supreme Court—and conservative litigants—do business.

Nobody quite knows what to make of it yet, but nobody disputes it, either: The Supreme Court of March looks nothing like the court we knew in February. The loss of a single justice, Antonin Scalia, has blown up the court and reshuffled everything. It’s the early days yet, and much of the evidence of newish, liberalish outcomes at the court lies in routine housekeeping matters: unsigned orders and withdrawn appeals. Still, it’s safe to say the high court is no longer going to be a candy store for pro-business and socially conservative litigants. What will rise in its place is still a work in progress.

As the Washington Post’s Robert Barnes put it this past weekend, with Scalia gone, “the Supreme Court, now with only eight members, seemed transformed in substance and style.” It wasn’t just the fact that Justice Clarence Thomas, after 10 years of declining to ask a single question at oral argument, suddenly did so. It wasn’t merely the fact that arguments in a blockbuster abortion case were dominated by the court’s liberal wing, while the conservative bloc struggled to land a punch.

The crazy new vibe at the court isn’t even limited to the raft of orders that have come down in the past week. Those include a critical and unanimous order affirming the right of same-sex partners to adopt children and the tossing of a death penalty conviction in Louisiana because the state withheld significant exculpatory evidence.

On Saturday, Donald Trump led a rally of supporters to raise their right hands and take a pledge that they would vote for him. “Let’s do a pledge. Who likes me in this room?” Trump asked the crowd at a rally in Orlando, Florida, which was frequently interrupted by protesters. “I’ve never done this before. Can I have a pledge? A swearing? Raise your right hand.”

The Republican presidential front-runner then proceeded to get the audience to repeat after him. “I do solemnly swear that I, no matter how I feel, no matter what the conditions, if there are hurricanes or whatever, will vote on or before the 12th for Donald J. Trump for president.”

“Thank you. Now I know. Don’t forget you all raised your hands. You swore. Bad things happen if you don’t live up to what you just did,” Trump said before continuing with his speech.
