I have a theory.

The general public is exhausted. Starvation, underemployed/unemployment and poverty have us so beat down, we can't think.

There's no time to keep up with the truth or the lies when you are trying to run a household, hoping to find the time and money to get to town to the food bank (on the one day it is open) and then to the doctor, to get birth control or medicine for the kids, all while bumming a ride with your crazy cousin that requires gas money or she will not give you a ride.

Logistics alone are time consuming and exhausting. Just ask your mother.

Notwithstanding the MSM is just a propaganda machine on free Tee Vee, which is all you can afford... unless you trade your EBT card for cash to pay your cable bill, which is now $300, because you were late last month.

I have learned buckets on my one woman voter registration drive around my world. Buckets for a lifetime. This Friday at 1700, that drive ends for me for 2014. I know that I have done my small part and I pray to Gawd that hearts and minds have been opened by my efforts.

After years in the medical field I can tell you "death by dementia"

Is slow and painful. Most patients with advanced stage dementia die from pneumonia. Drowning in their own secretions. And I do not recommend tube feeding for them at any level or stage of the diagnosis. Now how would you prefer to die?

Courage.

Courage is more exhilarating than fear and in the long run it is easier. We do not have to become heroes overnight. Just a step at a time, meeting each thing that comes up, seeing it is not as dreadful as it appeared, discovering we have the strength to stare it down.
Eleanor Roosevelt

All the best to you and your family.

My adoptive father taught me that to see things means

S: significant
E: emotional
E: experience
If it doesn't make a unique impact, it won't be learned.
So, the answer is no. I think you did it with your heart in the right place.

Thanks for your post, cali.

What about a two day suspension and some sensitivity training?

War is a racket.

Wouldn't it be nice if you and I had a dog in this fight?

Make it a national vote and then let's talk.

Love, Peace and Shelter.

Power and Control.

Snip

The cycle of abuse has four phases:

Build-up:
Stress builds up in the abuse

The cycle begins with some stress (ex: job, money or bills). The stress causes the abuser to feel powerless. The abuser chooses to act out toward a spouse or partner through name-calling, insults and accusations. As the tension builds, victims try to calm the abusers and try to guess ways to meet all their needs.  The tension becomes unbearable. At the stage, victims feel like they have to be extra careful and alert around the abuser. It’s like walking on eggshells

Act Out:
Tension leads to violence

The tension that builds up in the abuser leads to severe verbal abuse, threats or a violent physical or sexual attack. It may happen once – but usually happens over and over.Abuse is always on purpose – it is never an accident. Abusers believe they need to hurt or humiliate their victims so they can feel they have the power and control in the relationship.

Rationalize/Justify:
Abusers blame others, rationalize their actions

Once they’ve committed the violent act, abusers will often blame others or use excuses to justify their actions. For example, the abuser might tell the victim: “you have been driving me crazy lately. It’s your fault this happened!” Or, he/she may make light of the violence that occurred: “I barely touched you. You’re making a big deal out of nothing!”These are defenses used to turn the blame away from abusers and make them feel better about themselves. Abusers then try to convince their victims that the abuser’s version of the truth is what really happened. Often, because they feel powerless to object, victims begin to doubt their own experience. They start to believe the incident really happened the way the abuser remembers it.

About littlemissmartypants

I read voraciously and fast with high comprehension. I love to learn and share. But I will never, ever post anything in LBN again because someone always seems to find fault with my posts. I've had too many locked for stupid reasons to ever take LBN seriously ever again. I now just trash it. Which is a shame since there are individuals who are regular posters there that I love. I just send all not truly LBN and LBN dupes to the Trash from now on. No need to even bother any hosts with those anymore. Using Ignore and Trash are proving to be much easier and better options for me than trying to engage and attempt to make LBN a better place. I'm also getting tired of this place looking like the Trump Underground. Trashing every iteration of the surname and all of the clever nicknames people have created make it virtually impossible not to see posts about the psychopath that is the Republican party's preferred presidential candidate. Oh, well. GOTV!
