Now, of course, telling people to return to their country of origin is an old nativist trope. But now it’s being uttered by the supposed president. He’s engaging in the lowest of racist demagoguery. And it’s being noticed.
In trying to divert attention from his troubles, Trump opened up a can of worms he can no longer put back. The Epstein news was bad for him; he deflected from it by doing something even worse. Democrats, who were sniping at each other, are now unified in confronting Trump’s blatant, sledgehammer racism. The kerfuffle of last week has been forgotten. The House is about to pass a resolution condemning Trump. This will be a dry run for impeachment proceedings, when they happen.
Trump’s rage may have been calculated at the beginning. But now it’s spiraled out of control, as he loses control of the narrative. Now he’s nothing but a vile racist, publicly declaring it even as he swears his tweets aren’t racist. The media is not playing his game, using the strongest language it has used during his regime.
This diversion has been an unmitigated disaster. What may have begun as an attempt to give his base red meat, it has backfired spectacularly. People who were on the fence, for whatever reasons, are now disgusted by what comes out of the People’s House. His miscreance and evil can no longer be tolerated.
We may just have crossed a Rubicon. We’ll see where the road leads.

Stacey Abrams is still out there, fomenting rebellion through her Fair Fight Action Pac, raising more money than Kemp, filing successful lawsuits against his corrupt regime, and generally being more popular than him despite “losing” the election. So what is Brian Kemp to do? He sends his most loyal and clumsy henchman after her.
Enter David Emadi.
David Emadi is the perfect henchmen for a glorified overachieving desk clerk like Brian Kemp. He donated to Kemp’s campaign, endorsed him during the primary, was an officer in the Douglas County Republican Party and lacks any true ambition or redeemable political skills in his own right. The perfect henchmen.
This past March, Kemp made Emadi the director of Georgia’s Ethics Commission, which is charged with looking into politicians and elections in the state of Georgia. Did David Emadi decide to investigate Brian Kemp for hiring a private company to count the votes for his own primary and general election? No. Did he look into the mysterious voter purges by then-Secretary of State Brian Kemp? No. Did he look into why Georgia’s new secretary of state has failed to properly investigate a wiped server of voter data? Not at all! Emadi’s first move as director was to subpoena every single check stub, memo, and email from the Abrams for Governor campaign in 2018. It’s a ridiculously burdensome request meant to punish and intimidate Abrams. You can almost see Brian Kemp with a Dr. Evil pinky to his lip demanding “ONE MILLION EMAILS!” and Emadi in a white jumpsuit scurrying into the streets of Atlanta to do his boss’ bidding.

This is a party that has no morals and they make no apologies for it. They support their White supremacist Congressman from Iowa. They support their Alabama senate nominee who was a known sexual predator. They support the nomination of an unethical man to the highest court in the land. Ethics be damned with the modern Republican Party. All that matters in staying in power.
Knowing this, knowing what we’re dealing with, means we’re in the fight for our lives. Norms are out the window. Scandals that would have otherwise crippled any Democratic administration are now out of the news cycle in a single day. Republican candidate for office caught having an affair? Fess up, apologize, find Jesus, and get your endorsement from the state party. From top to bottom, this Republican Party is rotten and they don’t care who knows it. The Party of Family Values only cares about your family if they’re rich and White. Other than that and you’re on your own.
So we fight like motherfuckers. We don’t sling mud but we sure as hell don’t let Republicans stomp all over us. We call out their bigotry in public places. We counter misinformation online. And we work like hell over the next 16 months. I’m talking work like we’ve never worked before. Talk to our friends and family. Talk to our mailman and barber and dentist and podiatrist. Make sure they know about local, state, and national elections. Make sure they’re registered to vote. Make sure our children are registered to vote. Make sure our neighbors are registered to vote. Find our people and get them involved. Talk to the local senior center to make sure they have rides to the polls. Talk to your local Democratic offices and make sure people know about early voting. Start all of this NOW so that when November of 2020 hits, we move out like the 70 million person army we need to be to crush these assholes.
Because make no mistake. The Republican Party will go lower. Their evil knows no bounds. They continue to protect their own and target who they perceive to be as the weak. It’s a slow march toward genocide that can only be stopped by us, the people. And it can only be stopped if we stay angry, pissed off, and motivated over the next 16 months. There are more sick fucks like Jeffrey Epstein out there, being protected by Republicans. We may or may not hear about them. But unless we remove this administration in 2020, we sure as hell won’t be able to shine the sunlight on them to disinfect them from the American political landscape. Remember how you’re feeling today, July 9th, and channel that anger into positive energy these next 16 months. Because that anger you feel today will be magnified exponentially on November 3rd, 2020 if this administration is allowed to continue in office for another 4 years.

Stop with the my candidate or else. I have a preferred candidate. Fact is come the primary I will vote for the one that is leading in the polls no matter who I prefer if I think they have a better shot. I want to win this because fact is we will not survive trump for another four years.
I was told back in 2016 after the election that it was okay. It won't be that bad, we can do this. It is only 4 years. Guess some had no care of the repercussions or the collateral damage. Our world standing. Embracing dictators that murder journalists and their own people. Embracing white supremacy. LGBTQ, forgotten. Native Americans, all POC, forgotten. Children in cages because of the color of their skin. Our environmental protections taken away. Then there are the women. The women that birthed every person in this nation, stripped of every right over their own bodies.
Leave your issues and your purity and your primary challenges behind. Get the hell out and vote and if you decide to do a protest vote in 2020 like you did in 2016? Then in fact you are the problem and have no voice in our future because fact is you threw it away.

It has been 243 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence from Britain. Britain is now seeking independence from the European Union and the United States is cuddling up to dictators and caging children.
The United States of America has become what we broke away from in 1776, a cruel "Christian" nation.
I suggest we all take a break this holiday weekend to celebrate the good that is still America -- our natural wonders, our families, and the Declaration of Independence which is still in effect.
In other words, be as Trump-free as possible. You deserve it.
