Not knowing how easily, yes it can.
From what I've seen of rural whites
at least here in good ol' RedNeckLand where I could afford to retire, the poorer Republicans make them, the more they blame and hate the liberals for their condition. They're partly the victim of their own fear-driven xenophobia. If there's anyone on earth they hate, it's 'that man' in their WH. So if a GOP politician literally held a gun to their heads, they'd still blame 'us'.
There's not necessarily a legitimate safety issue here
But if there is - IF - then it would probably extend more to flowing scarves. Did Izzy's scarf flare out behind her or was it more like a skull cap? Also, what about persons with long, flowing hair? Are they banned from riding? Doubtful. Sounds a little fishy to me. If there's a general ban on head scarves, have you thought of the possibility it might be there to keep away certain religious/ethnic groups? If the ride's machinery is exposed and close enough to patrons to entangle normal length hair, which might be expected to blow about in the wind, then the ride's improperly designed in the first place and therefore IT should be banned entirely.
It felt a little odd
watching this ardent pacifist so proud of his militant ancestor, and yet I kind of understood. He was most impressed with the man's willingness to suffer for his beliefs.
Okay, this might be a little offbeat for the group, but...
I've been looking in vain for comprehensible instructions on how to build something that I can't afford to buy retail but want for my national or natural emergency disaster kit.
In no way, shape or form could I be considered a survivalist in the modern popular sense. But many who are also favor various conspiracy theories. Hey, I'm not knocking anyone in this group because I'm sure some are true, and many offer valid speculations. It's just that that's not my personal focus. Back in the days when CD meant Civil Defense, I was heavily involved in that as a practical matter. We've all seen natural disasters aplenty, and they're only going to get worse with climate change.
So I want to ask: does anyone know of a legitimate, honest source of instruction in how a DIY can build an incinerator toilet? I'm well versed in many off grid skills, but I'm getting too old to worry about composting toilets and I retired to a tiny rural town anyway. In event of a natural disaster, they might not raise objections to the composting sort, but I want an incinerator toilet like Incinolet, which zaps everything into a sanitary, light dust which can easily be disposed.
So if anyone knows where I can find out how to build one, that would be a tremendous blessing.
Incidentally, I'm also working on a solar power source that would be able to run the device. I am quite aware that electricity might become a rare commodity in such a situation.
Excellent choice.
For so long this thread was quiet, and I haven't been checking for new stuff often enough. Maybe someday we can get notifications of new threads and posts in our email.
Thanks for an entertaining and informative thread/OP
While I don't have time this evening to look up a link, History Detectives did a show on one of my favorite people in the universe, Martin Sheen. I knew he's half Irish and had studied a year in Ireland, but I didn't know he had an ancestor who'd fought in the Civil War that broke out after partition. On Dev's side if I recall, which would mean against my own ancestors. But Martin's such a good pacifist himself that I still can't help loving the man.
Just don't forget my personal definition of 'Irish pacifist'. It dovetails with my father's favorite saying, 'Beware the wrath of a patient man.' Anyway, I'd share a pint with Martin Sheen anytime. Now, touring Ireland with him would be a dream come true!
