Patriots Tap Dick Cheney As Cheating Coordinator

FOXBOROUGH, Ma – With the Super Bowl just a week away, the New England Patriots have found themselves embroiled in another cheating scandal, this time involving footballs. Known as “Deflategate”, the incident involves quarterback Tom Brady playing with balls deflated to below regulation pressure. A team is less likely to drop or fumble soft balls in slippery conditions.

While both Brady and head coach Bill Belichick have denied tampering with any balls, Brady went a step further, declaring how he prefers his balls, “I’m not squeezing them” and “I don't want anyone rubbing them.”

Meanwhile, Patriots owner Robert Kraft is said to be furious that another proprietary business system has been leaked to the press. During the 2007 Super Bowl run, the Patriots and were discovered to have been secretly spying on opposing teams defensive signals, resulting in Roger Goodell handing down strong words and petty penalties to Belichick and the team.

Sources close to negotiations say that after the latest scandal emerged, Kraft reached out to Dick Cheney, offering him a position as cheating coordinator. “His main job will be to coordinate all the various cheats we have going on at any given time. Dick Cheney and Bill Belichick share a certain chemistry. It’s a good match,” according to the source.

Some analysts say Cheney is on his way to the top job as NFL commissioner. If so, he would push aside his former war crimes partner, Condi Rice, who has long expressed interest in the position. “Everyone agrees Roger Goodell has been a disappointment. The Ray Rice thing was badly handled. Dick Cheney shot his friend in the face with a shotgun and the friend apologized for causing Dick Cheney any trouble. Condi can’t bring that kind of credibility to the league,” according to sources inside the NFL.

Insiders say Cheney is already hard at work drafting new rules for the NFL. The Patriots Act is said to permit spying, equipment tampering and abuse while granting plausible deniability to the NFL commissioner, whose $44 million per year salary (before bonuses) requires strong defensive measures.

Meanwhile the NFL has been striking back at critics with a new ad campaign. “We’re the world’s largest tax-exempt non-profit with revenues over $9 billion dollars. We do it to save the children.”

TPP: another fast tracked foreign policy initiative, complete with secret corporate meetings

on the eve of attack. And once again we'll have a media blitz with promises of "roses at our feet", nation building and the spread of Democratic values.

Yes, you've heard it before.

"NAFTA will create millions of jobs!"

"The Iraq War will pay for itself in oil revenue!"

"TPP will free up capital for new infrastructure and help the poor in Vietnam!"

"Do it for the children!" (sniff)

Meanwhile, US wealth disparity and poverty near record highs.

There's only a few people these initiatives actually "help" and the usual suspects are all in, of course.

That alone should scare the living shit out of every one.

Hot war, class war - the middle class and below are once again getting called to sacrifice themselves for the 1%.

Washington is about to hand you a steamy pile of shit.

Don't pretend it smells like roses.

January 21, 2015

With TPP there's what they say, and what they mean

What they say:

"TPP will create new opportunities to grow our economy."

What they mean:
"We are going to treat workers like livestock."

This is how Washington sees American workers and their families.

Don't keep falling for this shit over and over! Fight back! Stop the madness! Stop TPP!

"...and with TPP, you can keep your job if you like your job..." the middle class is probably just

numb to it all because TPP is a riot worthy plan to move the last bit of wealth from the middle class to corporate CEOs.

Every last penny we earn will be taken from us and given to Asia.

January 20, 2015

It's official, the 1% now own 50% of the world's wealth. Here comes TPP for that other 50%

The rich keep taking and taking and taking. They take jobs, they take families, they instigate slaughter in unending wars, they take lives.

As world power continues to concentrate in the hands of a few dozen people, we will continue to see unending violence and suffering as people struggle for life and freedom.

We live in dangerous times.

The richest 1 percent are likely to control more than half of the globe’s total wealth by next year, the charity Oxfam reported in a study released on Monday. The warning about deepening global inequality comes just as the world’s business elite prepare to meet this week at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The 80 wealthiest people in the world altogether own $1.9 trillion, the report found, nearly the same amount shared by the 3.5 billion people who occupy the bottom half of the world’s income scale. (Last year, it took 85 billionaires to equal that figure.) And the richest 1 percent of the population, who number in the millions, control nearly half of the world’s total wealth, a share that is also increasing.

The type of inequality that currently characterizes the world’s economies is unlike anything seen in recent years, the report explained. “Between 2002 and 2010 the total wealth of the poorest half of the world in current U.S. dollars had been increasing more or less at the same rate as that of billionaires,” it said. “However since 2010, it has been decreasing over that time.”

In Nazi Germany, the first to be exterminated were disabled Germans declared to be "unfit"

History tells us that unchecked power will destroy those without the means to defend themselves. The weak become convenient political scapegoats against the horrific self-serving policies of a corrupt ruling class.

The obsession with "fitness" and "superiority", common talking points of conservatives, reveals conservatives as true cowards. Conservatives are unable to challenge the absurd notion of their own superiority (an ironic weakness, for sure). Nothing scares them more than the simple falsehood of their delusion. And they will stop at nothing to protect their perceived entitlements, no matter how undeserved.

Today, real-life extremists are roaming the halls of Congress, lending a false dignity to the twisted visions driving our legislative priorities. We need to be vigilant and on guard against the radical views of supremacy. There is nothing more dangerous than a nation ruled by cowardly, delusional extremists.

So what are the attributes of extremists? Easy. They'll be the ones promoting abstract benefits that come from giving up environmental protections, civil liberties and human rights.

- We have to solve the problems of global warming by drilling for more oil.

- We have to increase levels of poverty before we can eliminate poverty.

- We have to torture people until we have peace.

- We have to cut taxes on the wealthy to increase wages for the poor.

- We have to eliminate marriage rights to protect marriage rights.

- We have to eliminate safe and legal abortion to protect women's health.

- We have to spy on your family to protect them.

- We must not prosecute Wall Street banks so they can help families crushed by their fraud.

- We have to outsource millions of jobs to Asia so that the money saved can create jobs in the US.

- The free market should determine who should be allowed regular access to health care

- We have to cut pay and benefits of teachers in the most impoverished school districts to ensure student test scores match those districts with the wealthiest families. And India.

- We have to slaughter thousands of innocent people with drones and bombs because there may be a terrorist among them.

The common recurring theme from the extremists is the notion that that you must exploit and punish the majority in order to preserve the power of a corrupt, self-serving minority.

And these days, when you hear conservative extremists lash out at the notion of a "populist" movement, they are simply afraid that the power of the corrupt, self-serving minority is being challenged.

From the tea baggers to 3rd way corporate shills - it isn't a matter of lesser evil. It is the same basic evil wrapped up in abstract notions of patriotism on the one hand, and a "free market" on the other.

Saudis Begin Public Caning to Punish a Blogger

Source: NY Times

BEIRUT, Lebanon — The authorities in Saudi Arabia on Friday began the public flogging of a blogger who was sentenced to 1,000 blows, 10 years in prison and a large fine for starting a website that featured content critical of the country’s religious establishment, the rights group Amnesty International reported.

The floggings are to be administered with a cane over a period of months.

The blogger, Raif Badawi, was arrested after starting a website called “Free Saudi Liberals,” and he was later convicted of charges that included cybercrime and parental disobedience.

Christie using Citizen Surveillance to Intimidate Political Opponents

We warned you. Principals of citizen surveillance are incompatible with the Democratic Party. If you find yourself instinctively apologizing for NSA spying and our police state, you may be more comfortable acknowledging yourself as a Republican. The Democratic Party, too tolerant of conservatives, does not exist for you to seek refuge from your Republican guilt.

New Jersey law says toll records cannot be released to any person or governmental agency unless they have a subpoena or court order. E-ZPass terms and conditions declare that "account information will not be disclosed to third parties without [customer] consent except as required or permitted by law."

Despite those protections, Lautenberg's records became fodder in Christie's attempts to diminish the senator. At the 2012 press conference, Christie cited E-ZPass records to question whether the senator spent enough time attending to his state's business.

“What was he doing going through the tunnel or over the bridge 284 times for free in '05 and '06?” Christie asked. “Was he ever in Washington? And when he wasn't in Washington what was he doing in New York? Did he ever spend any time in New Jersey?” Citing the travel records, Christie called Lautenberg "an embarrassment to the state."

Experts tell IBTimes that the disclosure of E-ZPass records appears to have violated state law protecting the privacy of drivers and also raises serious questions about the degree to which government agencies can keep tabs on the comings and goings of citizens.

“This is the kind of thing that reminds everyone why privacy is important: Information is power and always raises the temptation for abuse,” said Jay Stanley, a privacy expert at the American Civil Liberties Union. “Any kind of data that reveals our locations and travels is potentially very powerful stuff that lends itself to abuse for Nixonian dirty tricks, embarrassment of rivals or leverage over critics. If officials feel comfortable using information against a prominent person like Frank Lautenberg, what is the ordinary person supposed to think about how data could be used against them?”

The apparent use of private traffic data as a tool in New Jersey's political jockeying underscores concerns about whether such information is being used in less public ways by government officials who have access to the data. Such concerns are particularly acute in an era in which technology has made transit and communications histories easily searchable to those with access to the pertinent data.

NJ, & Philly, when you watched Chris Christie dance with Jerry Jones in the "owners" box...

how did you keep from projectile vomiting?

Besides the obvious ethics problem, what sort of douchebag Governor of NJ (or Philly or DC) dances around like a jackass (with another jackass) when Dallas wins?

Good news is, probably cost him tens of thousands of votes, in NJ, maybe 100,000+ across the NY to DC corridor.

Giants should put his face on the practice sled. What a fucker.
