President-elect Donald Trumps nominee to lead the Treasury Department initially failed to disclose his interests in a Cayman Islands corporation as well as more than $100 million in personal assets, according to a memo by Democratic staffers on the Senate Finance Committee that was obtained by The Washington Post.
"The reason nominees are allowed to amend their disclosure forms is to ensure that all the information provided is correct," Mnuchin spokeswoman Tara Bradshaw said. "That is why we have provided the appropriate amended forms to the committee."
According to the memo, Mnuchin submitted answers Dec. 19 to a standard committee questionnaire seeking information about his financial and business interests. At the time, Mnuchin verified that those responses were accurate and complete.
However, Mnuchin had left out $95 million in real estate from his initial disclosures, according to the memo. Those assets included a co-op in New York City and homes in Southampton, New York, and Los Angeles. In addition, the memo revealed that Mnuchin possesses about $15 million worth of real estate in Mexico.

Obama approval hits 60% as end of term approaches
Source: CNN
President Barack Obama will leave office Friday with his highest approval rating since 2009, his presidency largely viewed as a success, and a majority saying they will miss him when he is gone.
A new CNN/ORC poll finds Obama's approval rating stands at 60%, his best mark since June of his first year in office. Compared with other outgoing presidents, Obama lands near the top of the list, outranked only by Bill Clinton's 66% in January 2001 and Ronald Reagan's 64% in January 1989. About two-thirds (65%) say Obama's presidency was a success, including about half (49%) who say that was due to Obama's personal strengths rather than circumstances outside his control.

CNN/ORC Poll: Confidence drops in Trump transition
Source: CNN
Trump's wobbly handling of the presidential transition has left most Americans with growing doubts that the President-elect will be able to handle the job. About 53% say Trump's statements and actions since Election Day have made them less confident in his ability to handle the presidency, and the public is split evenly on whether Trump will be a good or poor president (48% on each side).
Across all three of these measures, Americans' impressions of Trump have worsened since November. In that time, disapproval of his handling of the transition has climbed seven points to 52%, the percentage who think he'll do a good job has dropped five points, and the share saying they have lost confidence in Trump's ability to be president grew 10 points.

More than 30 Democratic lawmakers now skipping Trumps inauguration
Source: The Washington Post
A growing group of Democratic lawmakers will boycott President-elect Donald Trumps inauguration Friday as a protest of Trumps worldview and his criticism of civil rights icon John Lewis, congressman of Georgia.
There are now more than 30 House Democrats 35, at last count who have declared that they will not attend the inauguration on Capitol Hill this week. The number rose sharply after Trump tweeted Saturday that Lewis is all talk, talk, talk and should finally focus on the burning and crime infested inner-cities.

After Plagiarism Report, Monica Crowley Will Not Take White House Job
Source: The New York Times
Monica Crowley, who had been selected just weeks ago to serve in a high-profile post on President-elect Donald J. Trumps National Security Council, has decided against taking the position after allegations that she had plagiarized key passages in a recent book.
Ms. Crowley had been dogged by allegations of plagiarism in recent weeks, beginning with a discovery by CNN that she had copied several key passages in a book she published with HarperCollins. A later report in Politico unearthed similar issues in her doctoral dissertation.
One person close to the transition said that Ms. Crowleys role was to have involved overseeing certain speeches, something that would be difficult with the lingering plagiarism questions.

The GOP will never find a plan it likes more than Obamacare and Republicans can never admit it
"Thats in part because Obamacare, in its basic structure, is the conservative plan for health care reform.
The most conservative approach of obtaining near-universal coverage is the one Obamacare adopted: private insurers coupled with government subsidies, mandates, and regulations.
Republicans are boxed in, and Obama knows it. Any conservative health reform alternative will be a step backward from Obamacare. As long as near-universal coverage is the metric of success, the GOP wont be able to beat Obamacare at its own game."

You Guys Are Feeling the Heat!: Anderson Cooper, Kellyanne Conway Battle Over CNN Intel Report
Source: Mediate
Kellyanne Conway and Anderson Cooper got into a massive heated back-and-forth tonight over CNNs report last night on Trump being briefed about supposed compromising information against him.
Cooper expressed his frustration that Sean Spicer appeared to be conflating CNNs report with BuzzFeeds, which included a dossier on that alleged Russian disinformation, and he confronted Conway about that. Conway repeatedly insisted to Cooper that CNNs screaming headline was wrong and that they linked to the BuzzFeed report online.

Donald Trump's colossal error on jobs during his press conference
Source: CNBC
Trump said that there "are 96 million wanting a job and they can't get (one). You know that story. The real number. That's the real number."
It is unfortunately very far from the real number. There are in fact 96 million Americans age 16 and older who are not in the labor force. Of this, just 5.4 million, or 91 million fewer than the number cited by Trump, say they want a job. The rest are retired, sick, disabled, running their households or going to school. (This number is 256,000 fewer than last year and 1.7 million fewer than the all-time high for the series in 2013.)
