mobeau69's JournalYou Guys Are Feeling the Heat!: Anderson Cooper, Kellyanne Conway Battle Over CNN Intel Report
Source: Mediate
Kellyanne Conway and Anderson Cooper got into a massive heated back-and-forth tonight over CNNs report last night on Trump being briefed about supposed compromising information against him.
Cooper expressed his frustration that Sean Spicer appeared to be conflating CNNs report with BuzzFeeds, which included a dossier on that alleged Russian disinformation, and he confronted Conway about that. Conway repeatedly insisted to Cooper that CNNs screaming headline was wrong and that they linked to the BuzzFeed report online.

Donald Trump's colossal error on jobs during his press conference
Source: CNBC
Trump said that there "are 96 million wanting a job and they can't get (one). You know that story. The real number. That's the real number."
It is unfortunately very far from the real number. There are in fact 96 million Americans age 16 and older who are not in the labor force. Of this, just 5.4 million, or 91 million fewer than the number cited by Trump, say they want a job. The rest are retired, sick, disabled, running their households or going to school. (This number is 256,000 fewer than last year and 1.7 million fewer than the all-time high for the series in 2013.)

Lawmakers broach possible Trump campaign coordination with Russia
Source: Politico
The comments come amid an explosive report about allegations of compromising information on the president-elect.
By AUSTIN WRIGHT and MARTIN MATISHAK 01/10/17 07:10 PM EST
And the intelligence panel's ranking member, Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), said the committee's ongoing investigation into Russian meddling in the presidential election should look specifically at possible coordination between the presidential campaigns and the Russian government.
Warner said the committee probe should not seek to "re-litigate the results of the election" but that it must be "thorough."
"In my view, our committee investigation should focus on three broad areas," he said, before listing them: "The Russian hacking and release of stolen information; Russia's use of state-owned media and other means to amplify real and fake news to further their goal; and contact between the Russian government and its agents, and associates of any campaign and candidate."

Trump Received Unsubstantiated Report That Russia Had Damaging Information About Him
Source: The New York Times
WASHINGTON The chiefs of Americas intelligence agencies last week presented President Obama and President-elect Donald J. Trump with a summary of unsubstantiated reports that Russia had collected compromising and salacious personal information about Mr. Trump, two officials with knowledge of the briefing said.
The summary is based on memos generated by political operatives seeking to derail Mr. Trumps candidacy. Details of the reports began circulating in the fall and were widely known among journalists and politicians in Washington.

Trump national security pick Monica Crowley plagiarized multiple sources in 2012 book
Source: CNN
Conservative author and television personality Monica Crowley, whom Donald Trump has tapped for a top national security communications role, plagiarized large sections of her 2012 book, a CNN KFile review has found.
The review of Crowleys June 2012 book, "What The (Bleep) Just Happened," found upwards of 50 examples of plagiarism from numerous sources, including the copying with minor changes of news articles, other columnists, think tanks, and Wikipedia. The New York Times bestseller, published by the HarperCollins imprint Broadside Books, contains no notes or bibliography.
Crowley did not return a request for comment. Multiple requests for comment by phone and email over the past two days to HarperCollins went unreturned.

Obama dares Republicans:Give me better health plan and 'I will publicly support repealing Obamacare
Source: CNBC
"I am saying to every Republican right now, if you can in fact put a plan together that is demonstrably better than what is Obamacare, I will publicly support repealing Obamacare" and replacing it with the GOP's plan, Obama told Vox during a livestreamed interview from Washington, DC.
"But I want to see it first."
"If they're so convinced that they're going to be able to do it better, why is it they're trying to repeal this so quick?" Obama asked. "What is it they're afraid of?"
"Why wouldn't they be eager to say, 'Here is our plan'?"

Former CIA director James Woolsey will no longer serve as a senior adviser to President-elect Donald Trump, Woolsey's spokesman said in a statement provided to reporters on Thursday.
"Effective immediately, Ambassador Woolsey is no longer a Senior Adviser to President-elect Trump or the transition," Woolsey's spokesman, Jonathan Franks, wrote in a statement that was first reported by CNN's Jeremy Diamond. "He wishes the President-elect and his Administration great success in their time in office."
Woolsey resigned after being cut out of intelligence talks with Trump and his national security adviser, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, The Washington Post's Philip Rucker reported.

Bam.
KGOP is about to OWN health care.
Austan Goolsbees remarks regarding Obamacare repeal tonight on AC 360 (paraphrased):
As soon as the KGOP repeals it, changes it or replaces it they are going to OWN it.
Then increases in costs, currently at their lowest levels of increase in the last 50 years, are going to continue to rise and will likely rise even faster.
Any additional costs and other problems will be immediately felt by the voters and squarely laid at the KGOP doorstep.
It's easy to take it away but it will be hard to replace it and replacing it will be expensive.
In short, they are the proverbial dog that caught the bus.
