CUbs vs Indians

Should be fun.

Cubs look strong but the Indians have manufactured wins with whoever Francona pencils in the lineup all year.

I have to get this off my chest tho

It hasn't been 108 years since Chicago won a championship - It's been 3

It has not been 108 years since Chicago won the World Series - It's been 11.

One of the city's 5 pro teams has been a dysfunctional franchise for generations while the rest have won - And I'm obligated to feel some kind of affection?

Nonsense- Go Indians

Phil Chess has passed

Without the Chess Brothers, music as we know it would simply not be.

Chess Records chronicled the Chicago Blues scene. Found and recorded artists that laid the foundation for so much that followed.

Without him there are no Rolling Stones or Aerosmith. No Yardbirds Cream Led Zep Fleetwood Mac.

And those were all second generation. Wrap your mind around this - No Muddy. No Buddy. No BB.

The music world lost a giant, a giant that never played or sang a song

Don't allow GOP revisionist history to take hold before the election even happens

I'm sure we've all seen or heard the nonsense already.

Hillary couldn't beat a "real Republican"
Trump sabotaged the party
Trump doesn't represent us, this was a fluke.

Bullshit.

This is the truth.

After 25 years of smears and witch hunts the GOP was convinced that Hillary Clinton was so damaged that they could finally run a candidate that represented the true character of their party.

Trump beat 15 Republicans handily. He received more primary votes than any candidate EVER.

The rank and file was convinced that everyone believed the lies about Clinton - They believed so much that they no longer thought they had to hide what they really wanted all along.

My wife just yelled at the TV

Well, it was certainly fun while it lasted, but a Republican never really changes

George Will got some good pub for hitting Trump in an article earlier this week. Well, looks like he needed to scamper back into the good graces of (at least the Paul Ryan wing) of the GOP to secure that sweet sweet wingnut welfare check...

So George floats a turd strongly implying that we oppose Voter ID laws so we can rig elections.

GEORGE WILL: Well, when Mr. Trump talks about it being rigged, he sweeps all his grievances into one big puddle. He talks about the media. He talked about the primaries. He talked about the polls. He talked about the Republican National Committee. I think when most Americans hear that an election is rigged, they think of government action to rig the election. And there Mr. Trump has a point if he would just make it more clearly. It is hard to think of an innocent reason why Democrats spend so much time, energy and money, scarce resources all, resisting attempts to purge the voter rolls, that is to remove people dead or otherwise have left the jurisdiction. It's hard to think of an innocent reason why they fight so tremendously against voter I.D. laws.

Nice. Typical lying horse shit bait and switch.

Slap Donny a little one day and then give him cover - and the gloss of "intellectual" justification for his "rigged election" whine the next

Seriously - This POS is a slime, a shill and a chancre on the body politic

Well thought out, well written compare and contrast of both edges of the debate

Snip -
The most fervent and polarized sides in the renewed debate on gun control share one piece of solid common ground: they both invest rather magical qualities in the cold, lifeless hardware of guns themselves.

For liberals, the very term “gun violence” has been reified into some sort of natural force, completely detached from any identifiable root causes other than guns themselves—as if .45 semi-automatics, Bushmaster black rifles, and high-capacity magazines exert some hypnotic gravitational pull that beckons latent maniacs to pick them up and spray innocent crowds with military-like barrages.

On the other side, hardcore NRA supporters and certain other Second Amendment support groups define guns and weaponry as not just the symbolic but also the highest material expression of liberty, freedom, and moral rectitude. Anybody who can buy and possess a gun, especially if he or she conceals it—or even open carries—in public, automatically passes into the ranks of being a “good guy.” No matter what this new hero’s background, inclinations, or emotional make-up might be.

Snip-

A bit long but a very good read
