lagomorph777's JournalThere is a huge difference between "misinformation" and "disinformation": intention.
I am so sick of the MSM labeling Trump's COVID sabotage campaign as "misinformation."
Trump is very deliberately plotting and presenting disinformation with the intent to kill Americans.
From "It will magically disappear" to "Clorox is magically delicious" to "Drink alien DNA," Trump is killing us for fun and profit.
Amy McGrath Takes Narrow Lead Over Mitch McConnell in Kentucky Senate Race, Poll Shows
https://www.newsweek.com/amy-mcgrath-takes-narrow-lead-over-mitch-mcconnell-kentucky-senate-race-poll-shows-1509691Democratic senatorial candidate Amy McGrath appears to have a very narrow lead over Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in Kentucky's race, according to a recent poll.
The polling, which was conducted by RMG Group, shows McGrath, a former Marine fighter pilot, with the support of 41 percent of voters, while McConnell is backed by 40 percent. However, the polling also showed that when voters are informed that McGrath supports congressional term limits while McConnell does not, her lead over the Republican jumps significantly.
With the candidates' positions on term limits factored in, McGrath was backed by 45 percent of respondents, while McConnell was supported by just 30 percent. But 17 percent of those surveyed were still undecided, and 8 percent said they'd vote for a different candidate.
(CNN crawl just now) CDC: More Americans gargling bleach.
Thanks Captain Clorox! You're killing MAGATS.
My best friend for 50 years has caught the virus: he's gone full MAGAT.
We have talked once or twice a year in recent decades. He called yesterday, and I discovered he's suddenly gone full MAGAT. I gave him a piece of my mind. I'm afraid I'll have to unfriend him (in real life - because I don't do antisocial media like Falsebook and Twit).
I'm really bummed about this. I sure hope he's an outlier. Seems to be the opposite of the trend nationally.
The zombie fad we've had for the past few years...an expression of unconscious anxiety?
I've often wondered how all this zombie drivel became so popular the past few years. It occurs to me now that we were all aware there would be a pandemic here sometime soon. We had plenty of warning, both from experts and from observation: ebola, MERS, SARS, H1N1, etc. But we individually couldn't do much about it . So we pushed it down into our subconscious, where Hollywood and book publishers found it and ran with it.
What do you think?
Am I the only one happy about self-isolating?
It's always been my tendency anyway! Plus I'm saving money on gas, and able to work a little extra time each day, with no commute.
On The Beach
One of the best movies I've ever seen. Particularly apt at this moment. Best performances I've ever seen, from every one of the all-star cast.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Beach_(1959_film)
On the Beach is a 1959 American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama film from United Artists, produced and directed by Stanley Kramer, that stars Gregory Peck, Ava Gardner, Fred Astaire, and Anthony Perkins. This black-and-white film is based on Nevil Shute's 1957 novel of the same name depicting the aftermath of a nuclear war. Unlike in the novel, no one is assigned blame for starting the war; the film hints that global annihilation may have arisen from an accident or misjudgment.
US lawmakers advised to use Vulcan greeting to avoid coronavirus exposure
https://www.space.com/coronavirus-star-trek-spock-vulcan-greeting.htmlWhile hand washing and limiting exposure remain ideal ways to protect yourself and others from spreading illnesses like the flu or COVID-19, lawmakers and "Star Trek" fans alike have suggested that, instead of shaking hands, using the Vulcan greeting that Leonard Nimoy, who played Spock on the original series of the beloved franchise, famously devised.
At a closed-door meeting of the House Democratic caucus this morning (March 10), the coronavirus was a major topic of discussion, according to CNN. The meeting included discussion of how members could best prevent the spread of the virus.
How TrumPutin's Falsebook bots are screwing with Democrats. (a personal story)
A friend of my wife (a real anti-Trump person I've met, so not a bot) posted something to the effect that if Sanders wins the nomination, she'll vote for a third party. Her post indicates that she thinks Sanders is the reason Trump "won" in 2016. She apparently missed the part where votes for third-parties such as Putin plant Jill Stein actually put Trump within cheating distance. So she plans to help install Trump as King if she doesn't get her favorite nominee.
People, if you are on Falsebook, don't let your "friends" get suckered into this bot-powered trap. Snap them out of it!
Trump's properties (e.g. Dooshbegg and Dingleberry) must be pretty crappy.
The only way he can book rooms is to force people to stay there.
