Sanders campaign: No ISIS questions
Bernie Sanders, who has faced criticism that his campaign doesnt focus enough on foreign policy, defended the call to not take questions on ISIS.
Of course I will talk about ISIS, but today what we are talking about is a community in which half of the people don't have jobs, he told reporters, according to CNN.
You want to ask me about ISIS? We will talk about ISIS. But what I said, and let me repeat, you can agree with me or not, what I have said is that obviously ISIS and terrorism are a huge national issue that we have got to address, but so is poverty, so is unemployment, so is education, so is healthcare, so is the need to protect working families. And I will continue to talk about those issues."

Senate Republicans get green light for ObamaCare repeal bill
The Senate parliamentarian has ruled that defunding Planned Parenthood can be part of a special Republican package repealing parts of ObamaCare, The Hill has learned.
The parliamentarian on Tuesday gave word that the provision passes muster under the Senates Byrd Rule, which means it can be attached to a reconciliation package that cannot be filibustered on the Senate floor.

isnt saving the environment something to vote for
http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/259398-gop-candidates-slam-obama-for-keystone-rejectionReublican presidential candidates are blasting President Obama for rejecting the application to build the Keystone XL Pipeline.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) vowed to approve the project to transport oil sands in Canada to the Gulf Coast if he is elected president.
President Obamas rejection of the Keystone XL Pipeline is a huge mistake, and is the latest reminder that this administration continues to prioritize the demands of radical environmentalists over Americas energy security, Rubio said in a statement on Friday. When Im president, Keystone will be approved, and President Obamas backward energy policies will come to an end.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said in a tweet he would allow the pipeline to be built if he wins the 2016 race.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush called the presidents decision politically motivated and said in a tweet on Friday that it will be a self-inflicted attack on the U.S. economy and jobs.
Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said the president is once again stopping progress and blocking job creation with the decision, adding in a Friday tweet that the pipeline should be approved.

Senate Republicans open door to weakening the filibuster
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) is opening the door to changing the filibuster in response to growing pressure from Republicans angered that Democrats have blocked legislation from reaching the White House.
McConnell has appointed a special task force to explore changes to the filibuster rule and other procedural hurdles including whether to eliminate filibusters on motions to proceed to legislation. Thats a tactic the minority often uses to shut down a bill before amendments can be considered
McConnell has tapped his close ally, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), and Senate Rules Committee Chairman Roy Blunt (R-Mo.) to form a task force with Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) and two other freshmen to weigh various reforms. They hope to implement the changes at the start of next year.
Were going to take a serious look at whether Senate rules ought to be changed in order to make the Senate work more effectively, Alexander said.
