Just imagine how much "kompromat" Russia now has, for 2024

Re: the cybersecurity breach.

It's looking like Putin's efforts in 2016 have paid him back so abundantly, that he didn't even need a second term from Trump. But he may now have the tools to reward him again in 4 years.

What if the prospect of Russian election interference actually caused a diversion of attention away from this other massive hacking effort? If it can be shown that resources were reassigned from areas that were subsequently compromised by this hack, then it's a credible premise.

The magnitude of this hack reminds me of how Niels Bohr described quantum theory: "Those who are not shocked when they first come across quantum theory cannot possibly have understood it."

This feels a bit like that.

My response to both Putin and Mitch:

Go Fuck Yourself

Here's why someone would resign a month before the term ends

Very simply, because Trump is punishing people who are trying to plan ahead for their next gig, because that's a de facto acknowledgement that Trump lost the election.

But by resigning, Barr can now freely pursue that next gig without having to make such an admission.

IOW: a very, very cowardly move by a coward.

Trump calls Kemp a "fool" and a "clown"

What a fool Governor
@BrianKempGA
of Georgia is. Could have been so easy, but now we have to do it the hard way. Demand this clown call a Special Session and open up signature verification, NOW. Otherwise, could be a bad day for two GREAT Senators on January 5th.

Imagine if Trump had dedicated as much effort to the pandemic as he has to overturning the election

Just imagine.

He's so stupid that he doesn't even realize that one might well have precluded the other.

Amazon to share your WiFi network with other devices

Well this is interesting. I can see the real potential benefits; if only it were possible to feel confident about the security.

One application: lost pets. Imagine your pet carries a device that pings these neighborhood nodes. There's a scenario where you'd be appreciative of your neighbors who have devices that participate.

Participation will be the default. You must opt out.

Should you choose to opt-out of Amazon Sidewalk, here’s how:

Open the Alexa app on your iPhone or Android
Tap More
Tap Settings
Tap Account Settings
Tap Amazon Sidewalk
Toggle the switch to Off to disable your participation

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) – Amazon is creating a new network called Sidewalk that will potentially make many internet-connected devices work better, set up easier and even help locate lost pets. But to do it, they will begin sharing a tiny portion of Ring and Echo device owner’s home internet connections.

“There are real privacy concerns … and there are overblown privacy concerns … but it’s still very much early days,” said Chris Davies, executive editor at SlashGear, a consumer technology website.

The Sidewalk network will be powered by various Amazon devices, including Ring Spotlight and Floodlight cams and a laundry list of Echo products. These devices will serve as tiny “bridges” across America – slinging the network into neighborhoods everywhere.

What happens if a VP dies in office?

More specifically, if the VP dies just weeks before the end of his term?

How fucked would Trump be, if that were to happen?
