I was talking to a couple of people at a local grocery store a few minutes ago and that seemed to be the prevailing sentiment. It is one I share. It seems that Clapper said something like that as well. I imagine that a guy like Biden would just tell the guy to kiss his ass as well
So any copycat types out there, don't even think about it. You can't win. Those of us who are really law abiding citizens will vote your heroes out soon enough.
Well, I voted earlier today.
Really easy. I'm and out in about 5 minutes. One thing I noticed about the ballots though. It used to be that there was an oval one could fill in for straight party voting. Now there's not. Doesn't matter, I voted straight ticket anyway. Just pay attention to the ballot and fill in the ovals accordingly.
Shhh. Don't tell trump. Asian girl is on student council.
My (step) daughter just got selected for the student council at her elementary school. She's Filipina and not yet a citizen of the USA. Ok, so it isn't city council or anything like that, and it's fourth grade, but her teacher, counselor, and classmates seem to think she's leadership material. So she's on the student council. My understanding is that there is only one rep. per classroom, so it's pretty good if you ask me.
I think it's great and more than a bit ironic that an immigrant girl who isn't a citizen yet can be in a position of leadership, even in an elementary school setting. This is the same kid who, on a bus trip to Chicago booed when she saw the trump building. This is the same kid who says, "Trump is ugly" when she sees his ugly face on tv. So maybe there's hope for humanity yet because her friends do not see her as Asian, they just see her as another kid, albeit a smart kid. I am thinking about telling Grassley and Ernst, but those dirty a**holes may try to have her deported. "Can't have them Asians in a position of leadership."
Well anyway, just thought I'd brag a bit. I guess I'm turning into one of those parents. The kind that used to annoy me.
I've got it. My road to getting rich!
Since Nike stock went down a lot today, think I'll buy up a bunch of their stocks at a cheap rate. That way, when the stock goes up again, as it will assuredly do, I can sell high. Maybe I can dupe, er, sell at the higher rate to trumpites.
My point is, Nike will do just fine in spite of today's drop. I believe they are going for a younger audience with the Kaepernick ad anyway.
Repukes at a local July 4 parade.
I took my kid to a local Independence Day parade earlier, even though it was REAL hot because she likes parades and candy. And when the Scott County republicans passed by, they were handing out candy to all the kids standing there except one, mine. Oh yeah, did I mention that she's Asian and brown skinned? I'd say I was shocked and surprised but I really wasn't. A few other people noticed as well. There was one older lady who just shook her head and asked how could they pass up a pretty little girl like that. A guy actually hollered out at them to,"give a candy bar to that kid". She took it all in stride. She said, "It's ok, I have a lot of candy anyway.". When the Democrats came by, they made it a point to make sure she got some red licorice. They got some applause
The repukes didn't. Repukes- making sure brown children don't get the same perks as white kids. People are noticing, even in Bettendorf, IA, which is a notoriously repuke city in a normally blue area.
So a trumpites told me today that he's sorry
Sorry he voted for trump. I haven't seen this guy since 2016 and I happened to run into him at a local drinking establishment.
I told him that he was warned and that he should just get away from me. He asked me what I'd do if trump died tomorrow. I said, " Arrange for time off work to piss on his grave." He then told me that I was a cold hearted so and so, in so many words. I don't care. They screwed me and the whole country.
Holy cow! Carlos Santana rocks the anthem!
I'm watching game 2 of the NBA finals and none other than Carlos Santana played the National Anthem. He's Hispanic, of course, and he rocked it out. Wonder if the trumpites approved of his version? Somehow I doubt it.
The National Anthem and sporting events
I have attended a lot of sporting events and still haven't figured out why teams and leagues feel a need to play/sing the National Anthem before games. It neither detracts from nor adds anything to the game.
So to solve the issue in the NFL, I propose that they just do away with the anthem altogether and just play the games. After all, people pay money to see athletes perform. Of course, the issue in the NFL is control. The owners want to make sure they have control of those uppity players, especially the more than 50 pct. that are African American.

Hey trump, are you referring to my immigrant wife and immigrant child? They are here legally, but my guess is that you and your fucking nazi buddies still think of them as sub humans. Try and say it to my face sometime. I am basically a non violent man, but you mess with the humans who live with me and that will change.

Anyone watching the Gubernatorial debate?
KWQC is showing the Democratic candidates debate and I guess it is streaming if you can't get the station on your market. All candidates are tearing into Reynolds and all candidates sound good so far. Glasson is the only one who supports single payer and I have been a supporter of hers since day 1 but if she doesn't get the nomination, I will support whoever does.
Hubbell sounds like a solid candidate and may have a real shot at beating Reynolds. All candidates are currently agreeing that sexual harassment, such as with dix is unacceptable and absolutely should not be paid for by taxpayers. Go get 'em Dems. Reynolds and co. have to go.
