Wow, just found this out ... RIP SF's legendary KFOG 104.5FM ... dying in a couple weeks ...
So many great memories listening to the station over the course of my life ... been away from the Bay for awhile but it was my go-to whenever I was home.
I remember back in the day, it was tradition on Fridays at 5pm to play The Toys - Smoke Two Joints ... loved Dave's 10 at 10, and Rosalie ... hell all the 80's-2000's DJ's were cool. Plus they hosted the annual Kaboom fireworks show & concert, which I went to many times. Saw Wilco in 2000 there, Train, Kenny Wayne Shepherd to name a few Kaboom concerts ... Acoustic Sunrise on Sunday was also a great friggin' show, featuring local, fairly acoustic concerts most of the time, often w/local artists. Great hangover tunes
Apparently some corporate assholes at Cumulus fucked it all up over the past couple years. A Pox on Their House ...
RIP KFOG

Anyone else grossed out by the sound of people eating in commercials? OMFG I HATE IT!
People CRUNCHING on stuff like chips, or slurping, or whatever? Where it sounds like the mic is an inch from their mouth? YUCK.
In fact, just watching someone shove a burger in their mouth I'm not a fan of ... but it's so much worse when there's EATING NOISES. And the fact that commercials are always LOUD makes it even more annoying.
And even WORSE, it's almost never just one time in the commercial .. they usually beat the eating noises into the ground.
I have to think it's 'works' on some people, but, man ... it sure doesn't on me.
A(n) Herb will disappear from the world tomorrow forever ... Which can it NOT BE?
Talking about cooking here, people
What is absolutely the most indispensable herb to your kitchen and/or taste when eating out, the one you'd be the MOST bummed if it disappeared?
Feel free to add your own in the comments ... only so many slots ... some others I can think of would be Cilantro (which I left off on purpose because I'd have no choice but to choose that one ... plus to me it's more of a food than a seasoning) and Mint.
This is a tough one, isn't it?
van morrison - cleaning windows (studio-1982) w/mark knopfler throwing down wicked licks ...
Just a couple of working men in their prime ... rocking a kickass groove ... this ones for all the working people out there!
As usual, best enjoyed LOUD
Got in my nose
As we carried our ladders down the street
With the wrought-iron gate rows
I went home and listened to Jimmie Rodgers in my lunch-break
Bought five Woodbines at the shop on the corner
And went straight back to work
Oh, Sam was up on top
And I was on the bottom with a V
We went for lemonade and Paris buns
At the shop and broke for tea
I collected from the lady
And I cleaned the fanlight inside-out
I was blowing saxophone on the weekend
In a down joint
What's my line?
I'm happy cleaning windows
Take my time
I'll see you when my love grows
Baby don't let it slide
I'm a working man in my prime
Cleaning windows
Dig this ...
I heard Leadbelly and Blind Lemon
On the street where I was born
Sonny Terry, Brownie McGhee,
Muddy Waters singin' "I'm A Rolling Stone"
I went home and read my Christmas Humphrey's Book on Zen
Curiosity Killed the Cat
Kerouac's "Dharma Bums" and "On The Road"
What's my line?
I'm happy cleaning windows
Take my time
I'll see you when my love grows
Baby don't let it slide
I'm a working man in my prime
Cleaning windows...
