"Its about equality and everybody being treated the same because we are all human. Its been ignored for too long and that (is) my fault as well for not becoming more educated and staying silent.
If I lose fans, thats OK. Ive always spoken my mind. And thats from the heart."

Way to go Baker!
'Time for a change:' Cherokee Nation removes monuments dedicated to Confederate soldiers
snip/
Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., in a prepared statement, said both monuments, placed on capitol square nearly 100 years ago when the property was a county courthouse and owned by the state, needed to be removed because "it was time for a change."
Weve suffered for centuries with too many others telling our story for us as they see fit, Hoskin said a news release. Its difficult to tell our story when we have non-Indian-driven monuments talking about the Confederacy, when they greet people as they come into our Cherokee Nation museum. It was time for a change.

Lifelong, older white AZ repubs protest and will vote for Biden

"I think the last three to six weeks have been a turning point," says Tom Rawles, 70. "We can always fight over the issues. But we need to cut out the cancer that is infecting the body politic of America."
That cancer to their party, the couple says, is Trump.
"We'll support Biden not because we agree with him on issues," Linda Rawles says, "but he's a decent, kind, sane man. I've considered myself a Republican since I was 13. We're not at home in our party. We're not Democrats. We don't have anywhere to go."

Suddenly Yang's idea of universal basic income doesn't seem so crazy
It was often ridiculed, even by some on here, but now Pelosi and many others are warming to the idea, according to the LA Times:

97-year-old WWII vet to meet with Drumpf Friday
This is a story about the soldier who decoded the surrender announcement from Germany. However, a few paragraphs in it reports that he was to be flown from Phoenix to Washington today in order to meet drumpf at the White House tomorrow. Wonder if the news about Drumpf's aide testing positive will change those plans, since the shithead is meeting with someone who has to be considered high risk for a lethal outcome should the vet contract COVID-19. My guess is the asshole won't give a thought to that possibility.

Meet the Arizona nurse who stood up to the thugs
Her name is Lauren Leander and she is a 27-year-old nurse in Phoenix. She volunteered to work extra shifts during this crisis, and got a couple of other nurses to stand with her as thug protesters cursed, insulted and brushed closely by her during their astroturfed "protests". BTW, he father is a broadcaster for the Phoenix Suns.
Lauren Leander is AWESOME.

The President should lead by example and drink a bottle of Clorox
Don't leave it to others to show the efficacy of a cure that you yourself suggested could work. Be a real leader at a time of crisis and do the right thing by being the first to try this potential solution to the COVID-19 pandemic. Your base would love you even more (if that's possible) and Democrats like me would be impressed (for the first time ever) by the courage you would show by this selfless act.
Iconic City Lights bookstore on verge of closing
snip
San Francisco's iconic City Lights bookstore is on the brink of collapse as the coronavirus pandemic is forcing the business to keep its doors shut.
Elaine Katzenberger, who is the Publisher and CEO of City Lights Booksellers & Publishers -- both the store and its publishing arm -- has started a GoFundMe campaign to raise the $300,000 that is needed to keep the business afloat.
"City Lights is faced with formidable challenges at present: Our bookstore has been closed to the public since March 16, and must remain closed for an indefinite period of time," Katzenberger wrote on April 9.
