A stopped clock is right twice a day after all. The idea that even she would be spinning in her grave at the recent turns of event in both our countries is a really scary thought, considering how much Reagan and Thatcher worked together to try and demolish our very notions of society and community. What the world is seeing, and how dangerous this is, as we bear witness to the impeachment proceedings, in the county who is supposed to be the leading democracy of the west and the leader of the free world, is gobstopping… shall we examine the evidence, my friends…
A self-righteous mob of perjurers who have been explicit that they will not partake in evenhanded decision making in this matter, irrespective of the fact that they took an oath mere days ago swearing to be impartial. They can do this because regardless of what they do, they know that there are no consequences to their literal taking the piss out of and undermining the whole system of checks and balances that the constitution provides.
They are doing this because in 2020 America they can get away with it. The shining light of hope and freedom that used to emanate from America’s shores is but a spluttering ember right now. Uneven justice is no justice and I am sure that is part of the plan for the far-right coup that is certainly underway… As Pelosi says ‘Trump will be not be acquitted. You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial. And you don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation’. That message needs to be shoved into the faces of republicans everywhere… every single day. They think they get to decide a new definition of justice. Well fuck them.
I am beyond stressed today @ what the future holds
I thought I had reconciled myself to Brexit after Boris won such a large majority in the General Election . I saw the result as a second referendum on Brexit and lets face it Boris could not have a bigger mandate on this issue - well in England anyway. I have resigned myself to the fact that today is the last day I will be a European Citizen - probably in my life time. Who knows what the future holds but if there is a further referendum sometime in the future I will pushing up daisies before we get there.
Brexit is finally here. Global Britain it is then. 😨
Sorry, but I would maybe have a scintilla of more faith in Brexit Britain if we were not run by a bunch of right wing fuck wits, and the opposition was actually led - just led - by anyone that could provide a reasonable level of scrutiny on what these bastards on the Tory benches are up to right now. I do not think that is to much to ask in the oldest modern democracy on the planet, do you?
I said to someone once. It is not the fact that you voted for Brexit that upsets me, it is the fact that you believed that the ineffective, inept and plain awful people who rule us would in anyway be able to make a decent fist of it.

Every single day Pompeo kisses the arse of a man who breaches the security of his own country and pretty much the rest of us multiple times every day on twitter. A man who sucks up to the worst authoritarian and totalitarian leaders in the world because he is insecure and desperate to be liked. A man who tells the ‘Supreme Leader’ (did you see that in the news yesterday??) Putin anything that he wants to know about national and international security, because he likes to be part of the bad boy gang, knowing full well that whatever he says will be shared amongst the rest of the democracy denying strongmen of the 21st Century, including China. We all know that what Trump knows at breakfast time Putin knows by teatime.
The decision made this week to use the Chinese Telecom Company Huawei to develop the 5G network in the UK, may well be a security risk, many of our leaders have made that assessment, but whatever you think of Boris and him giving China 5G business, Pompeo telling him off because of SECURITY… Is he having a laugh? The absolute nerve of the man, while he creates policy purely to try and bring about the end of days, AND while his lying, psychotic president whispers sweet nothings into the ears of and forgives horrors beyond imagination of, those who are the Wests normal adversaries (for reason).
But the UK is the Security Risk? Well that just takes the biscuit.

The biggest problem that I can see - is if our our democracies are failing to live up to this, how can we expect emerging and developing countries to opt for the democratic governance model for their own countries? Why would they?
Democracy needs CPR. STAT. And the biggest injection it needs of all is pillar three... if our leaders reject (piss all over) the rule of law and trample on the human rights of 'other' democracy no longer exists in any real sense.
