tulipsandroses's JournalJosh Duggar Defense Attys want to bar previous molestation confession, citing religion
SNIP-
When the report emerged in court this week, Jim Bob to protested, Im not gonna allow it! Are you gonna allow for that? To which Judge Timothy L. Brooks reminded him that has a witness he had no right to object.
Joshs attorneys have argued that neither of his previous confessions, nor Jim Bob Duggar or Bobbye Holts testimony, should be allowed into the trial citing religious privilege. The defense argues that because Jim Bob Duggar and Jim Holt were church elders at the time Josh confessed, they should be protected as a type of religious confession.
Judge Books, for his part, seemed skeptical of the argument, pointing out that allegations of child molestation are not protected by a religious exemption and must be reported to the law. He also observed that Bobbye Holt held no position within the church, calling into question the religious confession argument.

Alice Sebold pens letter of apology to man wrongly convicted
Author Alice Sebold apologized to a man who last week was exonerated of her rape, a crime she wrote about in her memoir "Lucky," but the writer also appeared to place as much blame on a "flawed legal system" as she did on the role she played in his conviction.
"First, I want to say that I am truly sorry to Anthony Broadwater and I deeply regret what you have been through," Sebold, the author of "The Lovely Bones," wrote in a statement posted on Medium.com.

The cream rises to the top- Rep Underwood
On Rachel discussing her Momnibus bill - that President Biden signed. We have so many bright, talented, hard working people committed to serving their communities. The Democratic Partys future is bright.
Cant say the same about her Republican colleagues. They have the dumb and dumber twins as their future.
Jackie Johnson allowed other murderers to go free. The McMichaels were not the first
Trigger warning.
Strange but true history , Kevin Gough, the atty for William Bryan, accused Jackie Johnson of misconduct when he was the chief public defender. He was fired in 2016. He believed he was fired for his criticism of the Justice system in Brunswick. He had the support of the local NAACP and appeared with them in an interview to say he was going on a hunger strike if their demands were not met. Fast forward to today, he finds black pastors intimidating.
These were some of the allegations he made against Jackie Johnson back then

Mr. Tyson said in his letter that Mr. Gough had also accused the district attorney of being too cozy with the local police, and said that Mr. Gough had complained that the Superior Court was being run as a debtors prison, issuing steep restitution and probation fees to the poor.

Lin Wood releases recording of Flynn describing QAnon as a 'Disinformation Campaign'
POLITICS NEWS
A Bunch of Kooks: Michael Flynn Described QAnon as a Disinformation Campaign in Recorded Call
In a recording of a phone call purportedly between Trump lawyer Lin Wood and Flynn released late Saturday night, Trumps disgraced former national security advisor said of QAnon, I think its a disinformation campaign that the CIA created. Thats what I believe. Now, I dont know that for a fact, but thats what I think it is. I think its a disinformation campaign.

In addition to the recording, Wood posted screenshots of texts that appear to be from Flynn where he says he has always believe (sic) that QAnon was a disinformation campaign to make people look like a bunch of kooks.
Wood, who has been feuding recently with fellow Trump allies, released the recording of the nearly 24-minute call with Flynn on his Telegram channel. Wood has been in a downward spiral ever since Kyle Rittenhouse, the far-right darling recently acquitted of homicide for killing people at a racial justice protest, said that Wood had taken advantage of him and left him in jail

True Story on Netflix. I like it
Kevin Hart is really stretching out with these non comedic roles. Good chemistry between him and Wesley Snipes.
Definitely binge worthy.
The republicans that think people don't want to work because of unemployment checks should read this
A record 4.4 million Americans quit their jobs in September, accounting for 3 percent of the workforce. Thats the highest quit rate since the Bureau of Labor Statistics started keeping track in 2000 and the latest sign that the Great Resignation is not slowing down.
The past two years have pushed many people to re-evaluate how they spend their days, especially in a U.S. work culture long marked by its long hours, sparse vacation days, and stingy benefits compared with what workers enjoy in other developed countries. Even those lucky enough to work from home are burning out. Its no wonder then that people telling their bosses to take this job and shove it have become aspirational heroes, as evidenced by the sudden ubiquity of the viral resignation text.
The main source of these messages is the r/antiwork forum on Reddit, a magnet for the overworked and underappreciated employees of America. Screenshots of people quitting their jobs over text have taken over the internet in recent weeks, with pieces in the New York Times, Vice, and elsewhere lauding the subreddits ethos of rejecting drudgery. All this sudden attention has come as a surprise to the moderators, who insist the community is not just about hating your boss but also working toward a future without bosses, period.
Since the start of the pandemic, the r/antiwork community on Reddit has grown from about 100,000 subscribers to more than 1 million, largely based on the popularity of these screenshots. Theres the worker quitting telling a boss go fuck yourself after being pressured to pick up a shift while mourning a parents death. Another person gets berated for sitting down at work, despite having a doctors note, and decides to quit instead. Another texts his resignation rather than miss Thanksgiving with his family.

Joe Exotic warns Joe Biden, Pardon me or else Dems will lose in 2022
I needed a good laugh before going to bed.
Exotic, whose real name is Joseph Maldonato Passage, is currently serving a 22-year prison sentence for hiring a hitman to kill his longtime nemesis Carole Baskin. Now, in a handwritten letter to The New York Post, he excoriates Trump for leaving him to rot in prison.
President Trump was a fool not to pardon me, Exotic writes.
Before the election, millions of people were hoping for it as they know Im innocent, most of this is in [Tiger King 2] and it will be the same for President Biden, the world will know the truth [when the new season is released] and him and VP Harris ran on justice and prison reform.
The letter continues, It would be in the interest of American Justice for President Biden to pardon me before the holidays and charge those with perjury and other suitable charges, or the injustice is really going to cost votes in 2022 as the people wonder if this could happen to them under his watch.

There were no burglaries in the McMichaels' neighborhood
The difference between the McMichaels trial and the Rittenhouse trial is the efficacy of the prosecutor. The GA Prosecutor put on a master class. She tore down every defense and explained to the jury why this could not be self defense.
The rash of burglaries was another defense she tore down
The prosecutor, Linda Dunikoski, pointed out that out of all of the 911 calls made in 2019, only one was for burglary, and ultimately that call turned out to be a false alarm. Dunikoski then asked Travis McMichael how he learned about crime in the neighborhood, to which he replied that he learned from Facebook and his mother.
The testimony highlights a crucial privilege of whiteness (and maleness): always being given the benefit of the doubt. For months before they were even indicted, the defendants got to spread their version of the story. And the media published their claims over and over without questioning, fact-checking, or offering a counter narrative.
