" Y'all love telling gay people we going to hell, then get mad when I go"

The " conservatives" are blowing their gaskets over Lil Nas X new video and the Satan shoe to match

In the video Lil Nas X descends to hell, sliding down a stripper pole and gives the devil a lap dance.

(Sorry I can't get the link to work correctly for his Tik Tock page where he made the statement I put in the thread title)
If anyone knows how to link tick Tok videos please let me know.

Anyhoo, here's his " apology"

I'm only mad at one thing about the Satan shoe - its out of my price range.

Even Gov Kristi Noem took the time from the Covid crisis in her state to say what an abomination this is.

Lil Nas X is firing back after South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem worked herself into a lather over his latest collab: a pair of Satan-themed sneakers that contain a drop of human blood. The kicks—souped-up Nikes designed by MSCHF—appear to be inspired by the singer’s sexed-up video for “MONTERO,” which depicts him descending into hell. (Nike has denied involvement in the shoe release.) But any artistic license is lost on Noem, who tweeted Sunday of the sneakers: “Our kids are being told that this kind of product is, not only okay, it’s ‘exclusive.’ But do you know what's more exclusive? Their God-given eternal soul. We are in a fight for the soul of our nation. We need to fight hard. And we need to fight smart. We have to win.”

“Ur a whole governor and u on here tweeting about some damn shoes,” the singer tweeted in response. “Do ur job!”

Bad Trip Streaming on Netflix is hilarious. Not for the tame of heart.

Its a movie where ordinary folks are in the movie and don't know they are in the movie. Like the Borat movies. Like Borat, it is crass and vulgar - so its not for pearl clutchers. Actually, more crass and more vulgar. Some of it was really over the top kinda like the menstrual humor was over the top in Borat - there are some parts that were just wayyyy wayyy over the top. Otherwise, its hilarious.

PBS' The Blinding of Isaac Woodard : How Black Soldiers Faced Fascism in WWII and America

PBS has an upcoming film spotlighting a bit of Black American history that may not be well-known. Produced and directed by Jamila Ephron and executive produced by Cameo George, The Blinding of Isaac Woodard tells the story of Sgt. Isaac Woodard.

More historical info on Woodard via the official press release sent to The Root:
In 1946, Isaac Woodard, a Black army sergeant on his way home to South Carolina after serving in WWII, was taken off a Greyhound bus after a heated exchange with the driver, who refused to let him off at a rest stop to use the restroom. The local chief of police savagely beat him, leaving him unconscious and permanently blind. The shocking incident made national headlines and, when the police chief was acquitted by an all-white jury, the blatant injustice would change the course of American history. Based on Richard Gergel’s book Unexampled Courage, the film details how the crime led to the racial awakenings of South Carolina Judge J. Waties Waring and President Harry Truman, who desegregated federal offices and the military two years later. The event also ultimately set the stage for the Supreme Court’s landmark 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision, which finally outlawed segregation in public schools and jumpstarted the modern civil rights movement.

In an exclusive clip obtained by The Root, the abhorrent attack against Woodard also sparks a discussion about the dichotomy of Black American soldiers who were fighting against fascism during World War II on behalf of the United States only to return home and face fascist rhetoric that had a tangible effect on their lives, too. The term is also especially familiar in modern times, given the conversations surrounding the U.S.’s 45th president.

So the man that was Secretary of State while running for Governor- now says there is funny business

with Georgia elections?
The same man, that while running for Governor allowed for purging of voters? Didn't see fit at that time to push for voter reform eh?
Didn't see fit to push for rules that a candidate cannot oversee his own election? Meaning you can't be the Sec of State and run for Governor at the same time.

Have we sunk this low? Where anything is acceptable? I just turned on the tv to Judge Jeaninne's

disgusting comments. I'm sure it was already posted. I haven't watched tv all day. I just turned on The Reidout, and the first thing I saw was this disgusting trash calling immigrant children "lower levels of human beings". I know it shouldn't shock me, but it did. Even more shocking is its not so shocking anymore that she is comfortable to say it, knowing she will still keep her job.

Have we really sunk this far? A " news entertainment journalist" whatever she calls herself can say this about children and heads not roll?

While Binge Watching this weekend, finally watched Rampage - CRISPR gene editing- your thoughts?

Didn't realize that was the premise of the movie- animals infected with a pathogen that turns them into giants- makes them bigger, stronger. CRISPR technology was used to create the pathogen. CRISPR gene editing has been in the news this week.
Your thoughts?
Are you OK with gene editing? Where do we draw the line?

China’s CRISPR twins might have had their brains inadvertently enhanced
New research suggests that a controversial gene-editing experiment to make children resistant to HIV may also have enhanced their ability to learn and form memories.

The brains of two genetically edited girls born in China last year may have been changed in ways that enhance cognition and memory, scientists say.

The twins, called Lulu and Nana, reportedly had their genes modified before birth by a Chinese scientific team using the new editing tool CRISPR. The goal was to make the girls immune to infection by HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

Now, new research shows that the same alteration introduced into the girls’ DNA, deletion of a gene called CCR5, not only makes mice smarter but also improves human brain recovery after stroke, and could be linked to greater success in school.

By the way, this may have security implications, It has been said the Vladimir Putin has talked about using this technology to create super soldiers.
I've seen the super soldier movie before, it never ends well.

Justice League is Awesome! My 2nd favorite superhero movie after Black Panther

I am pleasantly surprised! I was not expecting it to be good.

I also want to say thank you to the arts for bringing me joy through out this pandemic. Actors, writers, musicians, directors, animators, hair and makeup, costume designers, set designers, and all involved in entertaining the masses. Sometimes taking your mind off doom and gloom is necessary and healing.

The monthly fee for HBO max is worth it for all the theater releases.
