Just voted in Harris County.

I'm in the 2nd congressional district, one of the red parts of the county. It took about 30 minutes from the time I got in line until the time I walked out. There were definitely more people than usual, especially for mid term. I saw about 9 people younger than I (mid 40s), so that has me a little concerned considering where I live. Anyway, there were a total of 92 races and bond type issues to vote for, and since the legislature eliminated straight party voting, I had to select every single Democratic candidate. There was one race that only had a republican and libertarian running, so I skipped that one.

Anyway, I hope my concerns are proven unfounded, but it is Texas.

Happy voting!

I keep having to turn off my television.

I live in Texas and it's like every other commercial is an ad that starts out with, " Joe Biden's inflation is crushing...". They then try to tie Beto to it.

Then there's another with some good ol' boy sheriff trying to make fentanyl seem like the most awful thing that's ever happened to the human race, and that it's gonna gitcha! Stupid thing is, it goes on to say that millions of pounds or dollars worth has BEEN SEIZED AT THE BORDER! Well good! Sounds like we're doing a damn good job stopping it. But, of course, they go on to say Beto wants open borders, blah blah blah.

First off, inflation is global right now. And President Biden has worked his ass off trying to curb it. Second, fentanyl ain't coming for you, grandma. Calm TF down.

It's fucking depressing knowing that these types of ads work. Lots of poorly educated automatons in this country.
