Chairman Nadler Responds to Latest Letter from Attorney General Barr
Mar 29, 2019
Washington, D.C. Today, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) released the following statement in response to a letter he received from Attorney General William Barr:
As I informed the Attorney General earlier this week, Congress requires the full and complete Mueller report, without redactions, as well as access to the underlying evidence, by April 2. That deadline still stands.
As I also informed him, rather than expend valuable time and resources trying to keep certain portions of this report from Congress, he should work with us to request a court order to release any and all grand jury information to the House Judiciary Committeeas has occurred in every similar investigation in the past. There is ample precedent for the Department of Justice sharing all of the information that the Attorney General proposes to redact to the appropriate congressional committees. Again, Congress must see the full report.
I appreciate the Attorney Generals offer to testify before the Committee on May 2. We will take that date under advisement. However, we feel that it is critical for Attorney General Barr to come before Congress immediately to explain the rationale behind his letter, his rapid decision that the evidence developed was insufficient to establish an obstruction of justice offense, and his continued refusal to provide us with the full report.
Swedbank Laundering Case Explodes With Alleged Manafort Link
Yet another Russia-related Manafort money laundering case.

The Swedbank AB money laundering scandal widened as Swedens main broadcaster published a report alleging the bank misled U.S. authorities.
Former Trump campaign chairman and convicted felon Paul Manafort was among those to have received suspicious payments made through the Stockholm-based lender, the SVT network reported on Wednesday, amid intensifying scrutiny of Russian cash that passed through the banks Estonian unit.

Why so many threads telling us what Republicans are saying?
Jesus fucking Christ. Yes, we all know what Republicans are doing. They are using Barr's cover-up to go on the attack and spread bullshit, lies and propaganda.
Now why the fuck does every other thread here have to tell us what some jackass Republican said? Why? For what purpose?
We all know already. It is not giving us any new information. It's not giving us information about the Mueller report.
Focus on getting the Mueller report released and helping Democrats do that.
Stop flooding DU with Republican bullshit, please.
Felix Sater postponed because Dems want to spend time on Mueller report!
I take this as very good news. The Dems are focusing not just on Barr, but everyone else involved who ran the Mueller investigation.

CNN: The White House has not yet seen the report
FYI
President Trump and the aides who traveled with him to Palm Beach are still in wait-and-see mode. @kaitlancollins

Barr will not report conclusions to Congress today
I think this means it's a big report! IMHO.

Barr and Rosenstein at the DOJ now. Barr is reviewing the report
As I've said, we should assume no one outside the DOJ knows what is in the report yet and Barr is still reading it.
Attorney General Bill Barr will continue reviewing Special Counsel Robert Muellers confidential report today at the Justice Department.

William Barr and Rod Rosenstein arrived a short time ago.

Mueller still wants Andrew Miller to testify to his grand jury
How the heck could a prosecutor know there are no more indictments when the grand jury hasn't even completed its work?

How can any reporter say no more indictments are coming?
I'm just absolutely flabbergasted that a reporter can put this in their story:
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/letter-deputy-attorney-general-rod-rosenstein-offers-potential/story?id=61847216
How does that make any sense at all? Why did Mueller's team spend all of this time and energy prosecuting Paul Manafort? The crimes he was charged with don't relate directly to Mueller's investigation, which is Russian interference and if there was coordination with the Trump campaign. Why did they bother to go through with two trials of Manafort (with one of the trials aborting because he pled guilty)? Why did they handle the cases themselves instead of just handing them off? Why did they then enter a cooperation agreement with him? And then why did they get so angry when he lied to them? Why did they go BACK to the court to argue he should be sentenced because he was lying to them? Why go through all the effort of monitoring Manafort's communications and then putting the paperwork together to demonstrate to the judge that he was lying?
They did all of that for nothing? When they could just simply have handed off the financial crimes case to another team?
I'm just stunned a reporter can put this in an article without also saying, "And this information sounds insane."
