He is their useful idiot. He pushes through all of their legislation. He is their perfect tool because he will do whatever they tell him to do. It doesn't even matter that he takes credit because in the end all they care about is what is lining their pockets. His remarks and tweets are disgusting, bigoted, and hateful; they represent what many in the Republican party believe but until recently were afraid to say themselves. It wasn't long ago that the GOP was condemning Trump for his remarks but that has largely stopped because they believe they can get away with it. Next year will either validate that belief or it will end numerous Republican careers in Congress. I am seriously hoping it's the latter.

If there is a tremendous change in Congress or appears that it will be the case, only then will the Republicans do anything about Trump.

As an aside I'm hoping that Mueller is able to force their hand but I don't think we can afford to rely on it
