1. A lot of older shows and movies are cringey in terms of their jokes.

Some were lazy, and probably not even funny at the time either. A good example would be “surprise LGBT” jokes, where it’s suddenly revealed that a character is gay / lesbian / trans for comedic value. You still see it in new movies sometimes, and it’s just plain lazy and boring.
