Why do you believe that it would require bribing a judge to obtain a 90 day stay?

Believe it or not, the interest of the court per se in a matter is simply finding the most efficient way of disposing of it. What the court is essentially saying here is that letting the criminal proceeding go forward for a while might lead to a shorter path for dealing with this civil lawsuit.
