The democratic party has in my opinion, not been the party of working people for a while....it has been the party of finding compromise between the interests of Wall Street and the rich, and working people and the poor. What we've needed is a solid party for the middle class and the poor that would lock horns with the party for the rich and powerful in every fight. THAT would have generated the compromise rather than the erosion we've seen over time.
That said, I don't think this was the time for Sanders to take such a blatant swing at democrats who have been as receptive as I've seen to Sanders proposals in the name of prepping for the 2020 race. This should be a time of encouraging that activity.
