(13,305 posts)..with this much momentum...and this many great candidates with excitement around them.......in a midterm election that usually favors the party out of power. That's a depressing thing no matter which way you cut it.
I do hope we win at the state level, that is something I'll be happy about.
I'm also happy hearing about a lot of progressive prosecutors winning in places around the country (Thanks to Shaun King for making me aware of that as an important office that I never really considered before when thinking about social justice!)
So yeah, no need to be completely down (assuming we win the house) but let's also not think that we should be doing MUCH better.
Although I do hope this finally puts the nail in the coffin of the idea that large early voting numbers mean ANYTHING for Dems. I feel like every single election we have to hear the same refrain and cheers that "Early voting is through the roof!! It's breaking records!!!!" only to find on election night that it means nothing to the final results as far as being favorable to Dems.
