...that Kerry just couldn’t, it’s just wasn’t in him. There are very few who have that gift of appeal and genuine sincerity.

Kerry fell into the trap of “ignore a problem long enough, and it’ll go away.” Not so with Republicans.

There was still a lot of post-9/11 fear to manipulate voters, as Cheney did, stating flat-out that if a Democrat was elected president, we’d be hit again.
