In what way? All I've ever known about him is what I saw on his show over the years that I monitored him closely (stopped in 2012?), and what I saw is that he was a misogynist towards Hillary and his own wife and that his career has been, sure, based on his having been a Democratic "operative" (Tip O'NEILL, Jimmy, blah blah) - iow, he was a flack/hack when he was working in politics. But he turned into a RAYGUN worshiper, then a Shrub worshiper - because he saw them as "WINNERS" not "LOSERS" like his ex-bosses. Plus, his allegiance was not based on ideology, but rather on pop culture Irish heritage (JFK). In his newspaper column he was supposedly anti-war but on his t.v. circus there was no bigger booster for Shrub and the Iraq Attack than him. Really, besides the weather vane persona, I don't see that he has actual principles. He himself has said outright that the ONLY reason he joined the Peace Corps was to get out of being drafted to Vietnam - and, NO, to what some of his defenders have said, it wasn't to do something constructive (like HEMINGWAY being an ambulance driver in a war), it was STRICTLY to get out of the draft. Plus he has bragged that his family are "cloth coat (Repukes)."

But back to "civil rights". Can you tell me what that was about with him? What marches did he participate in, what arrests did he suffer, what? Really, I've never heard any of that and will welcome any info. Tia!1
