(60,437 posts)We were called the "Clockwork Orange" in 1967, after the book, which we all had read and liked. No one in the States had the slightest idea where we got such an "obscure" name, thinking we had thought it up as some kind of "psychedelic" band name, as was popular at the time. Three years later, the film came out, and everyone knew the name, but by then, we had scattered to the four winds. I had moved to Spain, and the lead guitarist had discovered LSD and moved to San Francisco, temporarily, anyway. The drummer went to school in New England, and the other guitarist had moved back to Canada (his dad was their ambassador to the USA at the time). Had we stuck together, we probably would have been hit with copyright issues anyway, even benefiting from the name recognition, and we were still teenagers at the time.
