I'm not a veteran but my father was a physician who spent most of his career working for the V.A.
Houston and Temple,Texas were the two hospitals he worked for.

He was dedicated to his patients and to the mission of the V.A. I recall the pain in his face when he came home after losing a patient.

Oh yeah, he was a vet. Was at the draft board Monday after Pearl Harbor. Fredonia, Kansas I believe it was.
And so was my uncle. In Bryan, Texas. Uncle Homer was quite a guy. Flew his missions over Europe and got the Distinguished Flying Cross. Had a lot to say about the Tuskegee Airmen. Highest of praise of course.
