Including the kindly old machinist with a garage full of machine guns. And a couple of the real, obsessive creeper mysoginists - "mentors" to the INCEL movement.

The serious collectors, frankly, scare me less that the BATF cowboys who would be sent to "clean them out". Double that for local LEO's, some of who have a serious envy thing built into their gun fetish.
If I ran the zoo, serious collectors would have serious safety & security plans, else the "red-headed stepchild" shoot up the neighborhood. That happened to an LEO friend of mine, who took 2 rounds in the leg, and was saved by an ambulance guy who went full combat medic, belly crawling under fire, to save him. Over 200 rounds fired!

My friend the deer harvester, will not keep a loaded gun in his house. In his words : "I'm not doing 5 to 15, just because some asshole pissed me off! And I've been that pissed off!" (I know the asshole of whom he speaks, he's not wrong...) And our favorite welder chimes in - "Yeah, B_______ worked for me! He's worth killin, but he's not worth doin the time for!" The "rifle club guys" with the Olympic style rifles, are scared as hell of the open carry crowd. "She's carryin a kid on her hip, and he keeps kickin the holster! Son of a bitch, I could't wait to get away!" I notice that the kids, of the hunters I grew up with, are VERY selective & careful about hunting companions. "F*&^ That! He turns to talk to you, and he's pointin the gun at your feet!"
