It was supposed to take them to their promised land or some shit. I lived in San Diego county when that happened, and a good friend, whom I've met decades later, was on the next property to their housing place.

The timing was based on the comet, there's currently a comet visible from earth at dawn and dusk right now... have to wonder if that has anything to do with the crackpots we see all over the place now?
