I didn't "see" him in this role, I suppose being tapped isn't evidence that it's been accepted. Will be interesting to see what unfolds. I take your point, probably should be someone with experience in this role engaging with China.

Actually, I'm of a mind that all of the seriously important cabinet posts and ancillary appointments need to be held by people with the acumen, experience and institutional memory required to repair, rebuild, or improve upon the destruction that psychopath occupying the WH has brought upon our nation.
