4. Hospital-based vaccinations begin today. We are really not more than a couple of days behind

the earliest states. Until today, Tennessee had only received 975 doses from Pfizer, which they decided to hold in escrow until more arrived. Tennessee is part of Pfizer's 4-state pilot program and the large shipment arriving at hospitals today comes directly from Pfizer. The state is not a "middleman" in this and is not holding things up, unless you count the 975 doses, which is not really fair, since every state is holding some back for the sane reason. It is just not as obvious because it is being subtracted from large shipments that they received directly from Pfizer, unlike Tennessee. I wish people would bother to read a little before dismissing an entire state as idiots and calling for us to be stripped of our vaccine allotment.
