My Covid experience [View all]

Back on the 17th of December my son tested positive. He lives in an accessory domicile unit in our split house. His girlfriend lives there with him. Both were tested positive with pcr test.

On The following Tuesday I started having a little nausea and bloating and loss of appetite. I went for a rapid test because that is all my healthcare conglomerate allowed. They only offer pcr tests to students and teachers. I tested negative. By Thursday and Friday I could not eat anything at all and was having some pretty nasty stomach problems coming out the back end. 20- 30 times a day. I went for another rapid test at urgent care On Sunday which was again negative. Got throat culture and was provided amoxicillin. I took two days of that until culture turned negative. Then stopped taking. Throat started feeling better but Still looking very gnarly.

Then for another three days I started with stuffiness. However my pulse ox was always good. But I had a consistent temp of 99-100 every single day and night. Fever chills were the strangest thing I have ever felt. It felt like a cool, stinging burn across my chest and upper arms. And bottom of my feet felt like they were in fire.

I hade insomnia. Got about two hours of sleep a night, which you can imagine was making me start to lose it.

Woke up Thursday with temp but by supper time I started to want something to eat. I had a grilled cheese. Went down nicely and no bouts of the the big D.

I feel like I have turned a corner.

This disease was as much a mindfuck as it was a total and complete wipeout. Every day for 11 days you wake up hoping it would be the day you start to turn a corner but nope. It was exhausting physically and mentally.

I think I am getting better now. So, figured I would tell you my experience.

My husband tested positive with a pcr as did my son and girlfriend. Those rapid tests cannot be trusted.

So there you have it. Let me know if you have any questions and I will do my best to answer.
