He'll not just be on the run from justice in the USA, but the mobsters he's no real use to any more, and he owes quite a bit of money, knows quite a lot of dirt and behaves like someone who might make just about any deal to save his hide ...

He may think he's safer in his home country.

Then again, treating Trump as a rational actor ran out of road quite a few miles back down the track.
