17. In a society of such unimaginable wealth, it's not such a big ask, IMO.

I'm sure everyone is sick to death of "My parents raised us with one income, and we weren't rich, but we lived well" stories, and my life story is the same.

They had one income, yet still managed to bring my sister and I up in a good neighbourhood, had two cars....all the things you'd expect.

My ex worked, but that was her money to do with as she pleased, and she did. My income bought the house, paid ALL the bills and even built an education fund for our son.

That was not THAT long ago, and look what's happened. In my adult life, those stories have all but disappeared, and a two-income family still isn't without financial worry.
