I'm just saying that I think the kid is very deeply disturbed and possibly insane (if that's still the proper term).

And I agree with you that the parents are very much responsible. And it looks like they are going to be held accountable. I think the school has some responsibility as well. Whoever made the decision that he could go back to class after the meeting with the parents exercised poor judgment. If the parents were unwilling to get the boy immediate help, he should have been suspended.
