17. I feel guilty that they're all blurring in my mind...

...Dayton, Virginia Beach, Boulder...they make such an impression on me at the time. I feel like I, the country, the world, will never be the same; I memorize the names of the dead. And over time...they blur. There are just so fucking *many*. Sandy Hook I remember as if it was yesterday--it's right down the road from me, and I slightly knew one of the families who lost a child. And know other people who knew other families. (Connecticut is still just one big small town.) But I'm worried that as time goes by, Uvalde will just be another fading memory, too...because there's nothing as certain as the knowledge that others will come along, and we'll all go thru this again. And again. And again...
