3. I expect, by the time this virus does become endemic, the death toll will far exceed the 1918 flu

not just in terms of sheer numbers, but also as a percentage of the population.

But I guess if we don't look at it or worry about it, it's not real, right? And if we don't count the deaths as COVID, but call it something else, then that doesn't count either, so hey it's a win for "normalcy," everyone shut up and get back to work, and back to the restaurants and bars and amusement parks or whatever.

I try to have, like, "hope for humanity" or whatever, but people make it really difficult to keep up.
