These are not normal times. We better wake the fuck up!!!

Just read about the violent attack on the 82-year-old husband of Nancy Pelosi and I am outraged.

These are not normal times and this cult has to be put down by whatever means necessary. They are coming for us and we'd better get our collective heads out of our collective asses or we will find ourselves on the trains headed for work camps.

Now you may say, we shouldn't overreact or we should take the higher ground or we need to be the adults in the room, but all of that misguided reasoning is based on the assumption that we're dealing with rational fair-minded people. We are not! Let me repeat it, we are not dealing with reasonable rational adults. We are dealing with a clan of monsters who want to destroy us, and our democracy and install a dictator. I can think of only one way to deal with people who want to kill us.

I send Letters to the Editor and have been doing so for years. I value my first amendment right to speak out. My most recent letter expressed the fact that the most important issue in this upcoming election is the preservation of our democracy and I cited the Republican Party as being a threat to our form of government because if they lose they're going to question the legitimacy of the vote. Well, that letter elicited quite a few responses; most of which were supportive, but there were a few crazy responses from MAGATS - one response stated that I should take down my Ukrainian flag - a not-too-subtle left-handed attempt to intimidate me by letting me know the writer knew where I lived.

A couple of days after my letter was printed in the paper, an envelope showed up in my mailbox without a return address with a cutout of my letter with taped-on nonsensical counterpoints to each point I made and an attached note telling me that I had better look in the mirror to see the TRUTH - whatever the hell that means! Another attempt to intimidate me by letting me know the writer knew where I live.

These attempts to scare me only anger me and make me more determined to push back. I will continue to voice my opinions and now I am considering buying a firearm and training in how to use it.

Today's attack on the Speaker of the US House of Representatives should cause all of us to consider what we need to do to prevent violent MAGATS from destroying us.
