5. Playing to His Crowd

For months I have thought Elon Musk is playing to his right-wing crowd. He did not get the applause he wanted from the Democrats and the Left, so he went with the group that gave him the applause he wanted. Now he keeps saying things they want to hear. For the last few months, he has been talking in right-wing talking points.

Most of the time I have thought he had not even looked at the things he condemned. A few months ago, he claimed that Netflix has become unwatchable woke brain mush. This was shortly after Netflix had announced that it had lost a large number of subscribers. I believe Republicans were saying similar things around that time. I doubted Musk had spent much time watching Netflix shows. Later, he criticized the new Lord of the Rings series and claimed Tolkin was spinning in his gave over the way the series had been done. Again, I doubted Musk had even watched the new series. It would not surprise me to learn that Musk is not well acquainted with the Lord of the Rings universe. Now he is claiming that the New York Times is "far left brainwashing". That is exactly what Donald Trump and the Republicans want to hear. However, I highly doubt Musk has ever read a New York Times article, looked at the New York Times website, or even looked at a daily edition of the paper version of the New York Times.

I wish someone in the media would ask people like Elon Musk to present examples of the things they claim. Give one example of a Netflix show that is unwatchable woke brain mush. Please explain what Tolkin would hate about the new Lord of the Rings series and how it contradicts the writings of Tolkin. Please give one example of something that the New York Times wrote that is/was false. Please provide proof of the falsehood. Too often people like Elon Musk are allowed to make false statements without anyone asking them to prove their point/statement.
