Musk's purchase of twitter was just a tantrum. He didn't like what people said about him, so buying twitter was nothing more than his "revenge." It's the same as trump wreaking revenge for how he was humiliated so many years ago in Queens by becoming president and doing everything he could to destroy the country.

When evaluating musk's motives, you can reliably use trump as the template.
